This is one of the main problems with the loot system. Tokens for i90 gear shouldn't be coming from farming WP/AK, it should be coming from Coil for people with bad luck on RNG. Dungeon grind tokens should always be a tier behind the latest raid equivalent. This gives people an actual sense of accomplishment for raiding, instead of seeing every Joe with full i90 just for pressing the AoE button in WP.

If they had made Myth gear from tokens only from Coil, along with Allagan drops, and made CT equivalent token system, we'd have a pretty good system in place. This would make Myth gear actually valuable and interesting, keep Allagan special, and give people options for filler gear (i80) with their i90 pieces. I hope they move to some sort of system like this in the future, RNG is pretty "meh" these days, and should only be applied solely to farmable content; primals are a good example here.

Translation: Everything good should only be available to elitists who determine who even gets into Coil groups. If the developers even thought of implementing that system, SE would have gone under faster than the Titanic. Myth Tomestones, given the cap, are perfect where they are given. No one on this forum can help that some of you can't feel enough like gods among people because people who don't play 24/7 can make decent progress without genuflecting to folks who lost their perspective on life a long time ago.

When a chest is opened, loot roll dialogue comes up. Whomever wins the item, gets the item. When the item is handed out, the other 7 people get a token. For every 8 tokens, you can buy one Allagan item of your choice (Hail Adventurer! Previous groups have come through and provided us unwanted items their group found. We would be happy to trade them to you for the coveted Allagan Tokens of Whateverthefuckyouwantocallit.). This means that if you are clearing all of Coil each week, and get no loot from a chest, you will get one item per week. If you are doing less, it'll take longer, but you'll still get something.

Biggest issue becomes buying items you do not yet have access to (i.e. only working on Turn 4 and trying to buy a weapon). This can probably be remedied by them checking your achievements or something to determine which items are purchase-able. This way you also don't have to worry about people complaining that they lost their special snowflake honors because they can clear Turn 5 and scrub-a-dub just bought his weapon.

It'll give the devs the same problems that Titan HM would; people will sell runs and end game gear will mean nothing. It invalidates any difficult or hard content when everyone has full coil gear within a week.

If your token issue was the case, I could fully outfit around 2-3 classes a day with my static. That would be terrible for the game.

    That's my opinion.

I'd say more like 1 token per level of coil would be more fair. Going from 0 guaranteed loot per week to 1 guaranteed every other week sounds more fair.

Making it 1 per chest is easier to implement, since it is tied to the chest. If they'd rather only one guaranteed per week, or per two weeks, or per week and a half, they just change the cost of items.

So, you'd get 8 tokens for a full clear. If items cost 8, that's one guaranteed per week. If it's 12, that's every week and a half. At 16, two full weeks.

However, remember, that generally the only people doing a Full Clear already have most/all of the items they need. Best they'd be doing is gearing alts, but that doesn't prolong content, since they've already completed it. So, a more realistic expectation I think would be that the average player would earn 4-6 a week, more likely 5 on average, meaning that at 8 tokens per piece they'd still need almost a full two weeks to get a guaranteed item.

But, speaking of alts, this would be a great way to help people gear up alts, or even be more willing to bring an alt class to fill the gap in a group, since they know they'd still be earning something towards their primary.

I'm not sure why you think you are entitled to the highest raid level gear just for spamming an i50 requirement dungeon (is it even that for WP?). It is not elitist at all to expect raid gear to be earned through raiding. Your incorrect labeling/mud slinging of me is really rather sad. I just do not take part in the entitlement generation of thinking that every gear should be handed to me. This does not make me, or other raiders elitist. It is the whole point of a game with raiding involved.

Suggesting a token system is hardly a new idea. They are well aware of the option.

I like the direction of that idea. I hate how no good gear drops in 4 mans because phil is so fast to get. Why even have the drops? But, the drops are FUN if there is a chance you will get something useful. Your system sounds like a potential mix between still having the fun of immediate drops (surprise) and tokens to help people who get screwed. The downside to this is.. if you save up tokens you could put the highest lv gear on an alt who has never ran the instance. You can do that with phil/myth but certainly should not be the case up to the very top.

I don't have coil exp yet but couldn't they make the system drop 1st randomly decide on the armor slot, example helm armor, then analyze the group so it does not drop a piece that is already equipped by the classes? Like if the two tanks have X tanking helm.. then it skips that as an option for when it decides which helm to drop. This will minimize waste drops and maximize (somewhat) the chance for any given person to get something by possibly skipping gear others dont need.

What I see here is people with Goodyear Blimp-sized egos being upset by the fact less active players can earn good armor by saving Tomes earned through various activities (it's 2.1 now, update your talking points. People are doing Duty Roulette, Labyrinth of the Ancients, and other stuff for Myth Tomes) and can do Coil with their FC or Linkshell mates without needing to be part of some group led by a 14-year-old with a Napoleon Complex.
