A mildly innovative crafting system that gets easier as you level your crafting classes, which I'm not going to knock it for, it makes sense in a way, but this gets thrown out in the end because it doesn't fit the developers' vision for the game. Other than that, not a damn thing. Everything else is just a copy of other mmo mechanics with a FF spin on them, and even then it was handled pretty poorly.
Well thanks for the response, was just curious as to what others thought. I sort of expected an answer like this. Played a bunch of MMO's for quite a few years now and the only things that stand out to me are all job/classes on one character and the crafting system.
However it doesn't make much sense to have a crafting system which doesn't feel like it was worth the time and effort to level in the first place when you notice all the gear you craft is almost identical to gear you can buy from vendors. Gearing isn't an issue anyways until 50 and once your 50 it's far easier and arguably better to just go with darklight over crafted. the only real benefit then would be food and potions which both don't feel like they are worth the effort for the minimal boost they provide.
As far as the all classes one character thing goes they did that in FFXI so nothing new, and the restrictions placed on your character make it better to just have alts, since they have separate lockouts.
