I feel the devs are playing catchup most of the time and are trying to implement their vision for FFXIV in spite of a lot of negative reviews, I think your estimates are pretty close to the mark and I don't think we are able to influence them at this time. They will listen to us only when people make enough noise or leave. Square have already profited to the extreme from FFXIV they went from millions in the red to millions in the black according to their September financials, they have absolutely no reason to listen to us.

To opine using statistics and estimations in the forum precludes the possibility of intelligent conversation is ridiculous, to reason abstractly is fluid intelligence and deals with complex information such as statistical possibilities. It's a higher reasoning function.

And no, the developers do not have an obligation to listen to us, but if they are wise they will consider what we have to say, the future of the game depends upon keeping the player base happy.

People who are intimidated by more than rudimentary English often hide behind the word verbose.

The points you seem to be missing are that 1. He specifically says, "I want to know what you spend time on," and 2. "right now this is what I see," and 3. "Feel free to post your idea of what percentages should be allocated to development of each of the in-game activities," He never proposed his estimates belonged to anyone but himself.
