It's likely a coincidence.
If they did do it purposely that's fine too. Gotta compete for subs and all, not everyone is going to do what I plan to do and pay for both.
I have, and I liked it well enough. It probably is just a coincidence, but its funnier to think SE had nefarious intentions. Remember when Kingdoms of Amalur released and Bethesda just HAPPENED to have a 50% sale on Skyrim the same day? Nasty peoples...
I hope you play EOS before buying, I'm trying to force myself to play it...

Seeing as the reviews for TESO are pretty all around bad, i wouldn't worry too much about it. It's also something called free marketing, a bit after new patch, come try out new things if you haven't played it since it came out.
LOl oh no they know what they are doing, its not a coincidence lol. If they were doing it to show of 2.1 they would have done it the same week or week after it was out.
It's just an opportunity to bring in more people to see all the 2.1 stuff they can't get to over the weekend. ESO's thing probably has very little to do with it.

I played beta, it wasn't very fun.
It feels like it's going to be another Vanguard: Saga of Heroes. It's not really even a bethesda game.
You take D&D Onlines combat, add in an open world, and some PVP, take out everything that made TES what it is, and you get TESO.
