Day 1 I would spend roughly 2 hours gathering all the mats to make the top 4 raid foods.
Day 2 I would spend about 2 hrs crafting about 2 stacks of food, sometimes more

    Profit of about 300k-400k

I only buy shards and Apkullu eggs (bots do a good job at keeping these prices low)

I get all my fish from an FC mate with 1:3 ratio on food. Sometimes I give him a better deal because we are in the same coil static

My best suggestion would have to leveling up a dol namely botanist or miner. If you have plenty of leve allowances saved up then it'll be better. It took me a few days to level my botanist to 50.

Check the mb to see whats selling. You'll make a profit either way since you don't have to buy mats to make stuff.

Another tip would be refining those mats. Ex:botany+carpenter= lumber or miner+armorer=ingot

For the most part mats sell at a higher rate than the finished product

I guess the "crafting is dead" really means "crafting doesn't make a buttload of gil like it used to". I bought all of my equips for my Culinarian and will continue to do so. HQ when I can find it. I've gone broke buying armor for 3-5k each piece. Someone's making my money, so it can't be but so dead! I've also been too lazy to level botanist, so I buy most of the materials I cook with. Someone's making that money too!

Yes, the undercutting sucks. But we all do it. And if you check back at certain times of the day, the lower priced items are all bought up and you can list you next batch at a more reasonable price. Or just list a normal price in the beginning and people will eventually have no choice but to buy yours after the cheap ones run out. I've seen this time and time again with Knights Bread; One minute it's at 130 and later in the day it's 400.

Are you likely to make a million gil in a day? Nope. But things do add up over time. Look at the big picture. Analogy: You make $11 a hour. That's a yearly income of $22,880. You get a 50 cent raise. Doesn't look like much. But at $11.50 a hour, that's a yearly income of $23,920.

You can make plenty of gil crafting but sitting at your retainer all day fighting undercutters isn't enjoyable

Well, gil generation in mind, my idea of "fast" money making is speedrunning WP. About 3-4k per person each run, minimum repairs, and materials sell for 3k (I know, not gil generated, but still it sells quite easily) you get 7k per 12 min, that's 35k per hour x however many people in your FC is. I don't think anything can top that for now..

Yeah man, imagine you have an FC consisting of 12 people and running WP.. You generate 1200 philosophy and 4000 gil every run. In one run, that's 48000 gil. In one hour, that's 240.000 gil, in 20 hours you'd have made 5 millions! Now repeat that for another 100 hours and you get yourself a nice medium house, except if you're legacy..

    Treasure Hunting is king.

    Spiritbond>Convert>Materia>Sell>Profit.

Gathering for profit OR better yet, farm mid/high-tier skins in the field & own the market for them.
