    need some advise

    Hi I played at launch.

I quit the game cos I couldn't stand fate grinding. Let me be clear I hate it. However I want to come back to the game now. Is there a way to level you class just as quick which involves more interesting content like dungeons or leves.

    Thanks Merc

Dungeon XP has been increased across the board, and the new duty roulette gives a very large XP bonus once a day for a random low-level (everything before Castrum and Praetorium) dungeon, and a random guildhest. The daily low-level roulette will give you a full level every time at lower levels, and a big chunk of a level at higher levels. That chunk will increase when 2.15 comes out in late January, because right now, the roulette favors the low end (Sastasha through Halatali), which means less XP within the dungeon itself; 2.15 is changing it to use more of the dungeon list. XP from battlecraft leves has also been increased substantially. Oh, there are also the beastman daily quests you can do starting at 42. I've only done those on level 50 jobs, so I haven't really paid attention to the XP, but it's likely comparable to regular sidequests.

There's nothing that's as fast as FATE grinding was before 2.1. Even FATE grinding. People aren't FATE grinding nearly as much now, which means that goes more slowly. If you do happen across a large number of people wanting to grind FATEs, that'd still be the fastest way to level, but you're probably not going to find that every time you log in.

I believe that a static group dungeon grinding might be way more fast than actual FATE grinding iIf the group knows the dungeon.

The difference is that you are committed to 30-60mn of your time, not going afk, autofollow etc... if you want it to be very effective.

Either create your group, there is a tool now to create a party in your server or you can use Duty finder for dungeons while doing FATEs until dungeon pops

No-one ever forced you to fate grind, back then or now.

All the above post is true about the New exp tho.

You can totally ignore all FATEs nowadays and have zero issues levelling to 50. Just doing your low level Roulette each day, along with the occasional dungeon (highest one your character qualifies for) for gear upgrades, along with your class quests and hunting log is plenty enough. Once you get to 42, you can also do the beastmen dailies with the class you are levelling and get xp (roughly 60K per day, plus foes defeated).

To give you a concrete example, my Dragoon was level 0 when patch 2.1 hit and it'll be 50 tonight. And i've been playing as Black Mage and maxing out my 450 Mythology every week, doing group treasure hunting, getting my Summoner relic and levelling both my Marauder and Gladiator all at the same time - so not grinding it at all. I think I did 5-10 FATEs along the way since they just popped on me while I was in the field as a dragoon, and at the right level. Leveling is easier than ever nowadays, and so much more enjoyable than grinding FATEs.
