    Crafting and synth "color".

Is there any evidence on what's good to do? Obviously the "wait" command is there for a reason, to allow your craft to stabilize, but what time do you want it to do so?

I assume red means it needs a rest? Yet I seem to fail the most when it's yellow. When it's rainbow-flashing or plain white I almost always succeed.

i usually pay no heed to the colours, i do however use the wait command when an element becomes unstable. Dont wait more than 2 times though.

other than that, its completely ******** random

What people believe are the best synth chances ranks from (best to worst) white>yellow>red>multicolor. We've at least heard from SE that white is the best time to attempt the synth, multi is worst (the most fails and unstables occur if you try synthing here), and red is apparently the best state to try a bold synth in.

The wait command is either for; trying to get the orb to a better color state, or trying to see if you can clear an unstable element. Worst unstables imo: ice, lightning, wind.

The only things I'm still following when I synth are: white is ok, stay the hell away from the multi flashing colored orb. Otherwise it acts way too random. I could still get an unstable element with a crit fail trying to synth on a white orb. If I'm attempting a low level synth, I could get a better quality output trying to bold on the multi than a red.

To re-sum it up, blasted system is still too random.

Shikaree is partly right and partly wrong. Here's a link to an Ask the Devs post (link in text).

It's supposed to be a high risk/high reward thing. From lowest risk/lowest reward to highest risk/highest reward, it goes: White --> Yellow --> Red.

When it's flashing different colors, it can be any of the three colors. But it can't be any more high risk than red.

If you've got enough durability left, you can "wait" when the element is unstable. Sometimes I'll "wait" when it's Red to give me a better chance of success.
