LF Semi-Laid Back, Always Amazing FC

I am currently a 42 White Mage which has become slightly frustrated with Pugging in the duty finder. I have end game healed in a number of different MMOs, most notably in AOC (don't judge), SWTOR, and Rift. I can and have tanked if needed and have spent considerable time in DPS roles. I have tried to convince my normal guild to join FFXIV, but having been unsuccessful I am now reaching out to other guilds through here, in hopes that the FC that are on the forums are more involved.

As for what I want in a free company, beyond basic stuff like a vent/team speak server and a decent friendly group of people, I would just like to be belong a to a FC that would like to succeed in end-game but is not obsessed with it. I enjoy playing MMOs, but I don't like them becoming a second job. I have enjoyed FFXIV so far and am just looking to experience end game with a great group of people. Thanks for any interest (damn I feel like i just wrote a cover letter).

I saw your post before I entered mine (and was also impressed with your progress that was recorded in Zoomie's post), but is seems like you guys are set in the healer roles, and though I am fine with lvling other roles, i am looking forward to getting into end game and it may take a bit to lvl a DPS role where I am at currently. That being said, I guess a group of good people can be more valuable. Basically, what i am asking is what are you guys looking for? and what would be ultimate place in your guild?

You spoke my name and I have been summoned!

Onion is a great choice. You won't find a better group of people, equivalent perhaps *cough*, but you're can't go wrong with Papa and Co. I've known most of them since the very beginning and can say you'd be making a great choice. And hey... who doesn't like onion rings. Is that cannibalism? ...who knows.

I'll do it on Zoom's behalf.

The main difference between the Onion Knights and Choco Rodeo, at least as I understand it, is thus.
Joining Onion is like joining a college frat. We're loud, opinionated, and we bully raid bosses. We're up until the wee hours of the morning making dick jokes, but there's an underlying brotherhood that counts for an awful lot. Even the many ladies of the FC act like 'one of the guys.' If you're struggling with boss mechanics, you'll suddenly have a dozen people showing up to yell encouragement and tell you that YOU CAN DO IT, BRO, CHUG, CHUG, CHUG. We don't believe in ever giving up, and we have a lot to show for our hard work. But if you're the sort that quits when the going gets tough, folks will turn their back on you.

Joining Rodeo, I've heard, is like sitting down at a martini bar with friends. They approach content professionally, but in truth they're only doing it to have a good time. They cultivate an atmosphere of relaxation and fellowship. If you struggle with boss mechanics, you'll have at least a few close friends in the FC that'll ask if you want to talk about it. It takes a lot of hard work to not fit in and feel welcomed with the Rodeo.
Internally, we often talk about Rodeo being our main competition for Coil turns 6-10, and that's because successful raiders want more out of the game than just killing bosses and seeing pretty pixels pop. They actually want to be there, together. And that's CR to a T.

To Sythan - regardless of which FC you join, you're not likely to dive straight into a Coil group, healer or not. If you rushed your darklight gear I suppose it's possible you might find a Company on the server absolutely desperate for a white mage, but that doesn't apply to either of us. Instead, you'd be joining a group based on their attitude and philosophy, and if you turned out to be a good fit, the FC will find you a raiding spot once we understand you a little bit. After all, it's our responsibility to put you in a coil team where you can flourish, and a lot of that has to do with personality and outlook.

    That was... beautiful... /tear

Very perceptive of you and I love the martini bar analogy. I wasn't going to come here and compete out of respect to you but you've gone and done it for me! Much love as always.

I may have to steal that as a forum signature or something, with your permission of course

But it's true, y'know. There's a lot of FCs out there, and it usually isn't easy to find the right one for you. Only by being totally honest about what our FCs are like - both the good and the bad - can folks make an informed decision.
I'd really love a world where there was brutal honesty in FC advertisements.

    So beautiful.

We also love big beautiful roegadyn women despite the obvious overallocation of catgirls.
