If you're doing these with an egi out that's probably why you're getting attacked. I think they're bugged from this respect. If I do them with an egi out I get aggro despite the transparency. If I do it with no egi out I don't get aggro.

Try not calling an egi and see if that helps.

I'm not doing it with an egi out. There is one point where you literally have to have someone help you, there is a Milkroot Sapling on one side and a Sylph facing you on the other. Even worse, the actual objective has a Milkroot Cluster sitting right on it. The quest is ridiculously stupid; you either try to sneak past and fail, or you wait there forever for someone else to aggro everything. FATEs are vastly superior to this horseshit.

Edit: Finally got it done. Do I feel good for overcoming this challenge? Not at all, a random Monk happened to run past giving me a window to easy-mode it. [sarcasm] Great quest design SE. [/sarcasm]
