    Future Jobs - What are you expecting?

    So far we have 5 Disciples of War and 3 Disciples of Magic. We have 9 Jobs, where arcanist has 2 Jobs that are based on it.

    This gives me the impression that each class can possibly have at least 2 Jobs per class. So the question is... what are you expecting/would like/ wish for the future Jobs to be? I already have some idea what one of them could be.

    Gladiator 30/Thaumaturge 15 - Dark Knight

    A DPS class that functions as a Magic Knight, with increases the class's damage potential and unleashes powerful burst damage at the cost of HP.

    What abilities and current skill upgrades could make this Job possible? i dont have a clear clue, but one is free to speculate.

    What about you all?

    A temple knight would be good to see. seeWas one of my favorites from ff tactics. Prehapse ot would require 30 gladiator 15 arcanist.

    Why GLA? GLA/THM is much more likely to be the basis for RDM.

    MRD/THM would make much more sense for DRK.


    I'm expecting at some point to get a Dagger class and have daggers taken away from GLA (YP already said he's consdiering this) and have 1 job be THF and the other DNC for that class.

    Musketeer would also be nice, since LL still lacks a 2nd melee role and we know it exists.


    EDIT: Would also very much like to see BRD completely re-tooled and made into a stronger support role while adding RNG as the real dps option; Bard is a complete utter joke compared to what it was in XI and even back in 1.23 songs were much stronger and generally more useful.

    By the same token, I feel alike ACN should be scrapped altogether and redone properly with an emphasis on the pets. SMN feels way too much like a RDM with lame pets and no real utility and XI's version of SCH was some of the best job design in a game *ever*.


    I'm curious how they're going to work in NIN & SAM. They could very well make SAM LNC's secondary job instead of sharing katanas with NIN (would also be more historically accurate).

    I'd really like to see Ninja have the ability to just teleport around the battlefield... Give it something like Aetherflow and instead of Bane/Fester/Energy Drain it can teleport using those counters... You should still be allowed to use the teleport ability even if you don't have the Aetherflow style ability in place, resulting in a special animation:

    XI Scholar wasn't "well designed," it was so absurdly broken and overpowered it was just awesome. That's unfortunately poor design.

    XIV Scholar is a fairly well-designed class. It doesn't feel too powerful, but at the same time it's a very active, engaging healing class that feels a lot more fun to me than conjurer/white mage.

    Geomancer, Blue Mage, Red Mage, or Beast Master are all I await to see~

    I'll be happy if we get other Disciple of Magic class and Jobs other than these as these are all I plan on playing and leveling up (until I am forced to level something else up like for my Black and White mages, but I don't intend to level further than where I have to.)

    The way the current classes and jobs have been set up doesn't give me a lot of hope for a cool implementation of future ones.

    As it stands now, a Blue mage would probably end up being a monk with tank stances and a lore-based description that has almost nothing to do with how they play.

    I'd like it if they could retcon some of the existing classes to such that each would match their lore better... And for them to make any new jobs completely diverge from existing ones.
    But I don't think that'll happen. :-(
