    Ifrit egi reworked, personal artwork =)

    Hi guys !! During my free time the last 2 months i did a Cg sculpt of our ifrit egi, just reworked it a little, half actual egi, half ifrit with a little freedom.
    Pretty happy of the final result i'm proud to share it with the community, was very fun to do, and give me so practice on elements i still didn't work, even at job ^^
    Hope you will like it.
    Ps: garuda is on the way but it will be so long T_T with all the feathers to do, will post some wip when possible !
    pps: sorry for my bad english and maybe all of my mistakes.







    Update: Did a speed clay render test today, but i lose some of the details in the process, willtake a look at this this weekend i think ^^


    ps: for all the images you can right click on them then "show image" ( not sure how is it in english :/)

    There's a difference between creating a fully animated 3D model and a static 3D model. He probably has a while to go yet before taking this on a full professional level.
    Though that being said, it is a very nice piece of work, and a step in the right direction. I'd suggest making an arena and unique moveset for each primal for a possible "primal reborn" new set of instances... Or even a boss rush.

    Not to mention to actually utilize models they need to be optmiized. Trick is find that sweet spot between quality and optimization. You always have to sacrifice one to achieve the other.

    Optimizing tri and poly count, without sacrificing the shape, and using the lowest possible texture whilst keeping the required level of detail.

    Awesome model though OP

    he/she can just slap any human shape rigging on it then its done.

    As good as that detailed model looks, the pets are designed with the same limitations that minions have.

    You'll notice their detail is lacking, to help lower stress on the PS3 version of the game.

    And so pets, like Egi's, are treated with low textures, and low poly counts.

    FFXI - 1999-2001 developed Playstation 2 MMORPG has full detailed (for that platform) Avatars (Summons), that's not an argument. They stated it wasn't PS3 limitation in any shape or form, Yoshi simply hated seeing people with multiple copies of a powerful beast as a pet as he felt it "cheapened" them.

    I've given up any hope of SE making a decent summoner class, even in their offline games summoning has become a flashy light show that does crap for damage. In XIV it isn't even that, it's a freaking puppet show with crap for damage. I don't even bother with the Arcanist jobs anymore.
