Little tweaks here and there don't mean shit if I have to run around and check 10 different NPCs in 10 different wards to buy 1 set of gear. What part of the current system is good? The part where you waste time or the part where you cant sell your shit?

The current MW is like a rusty shit-box car. Sure it works, it'll get you from point A to B most of the time, slow and safe because I'm fairly sure the airbags don't work anymore and the seatbelt has been stuck for years. The Muffler might drag on the ground, your door might be half disintegrated, but it works. Sometimes you have to pour water into the coolant container on the side of the highway, but it still got you most of the way there, so hey, it's all good.
Maybe if you spray the MWs with enough Rustoleum nobody will notice it's more rust than anything else.
If that's all you aspire to then hats off, you've arrived. Bask in the dim light of mediocrity.
The "physical manifestation" of the wards is totally unnecessary when a series of menus would do the trick in half the time and, I suspect, with less weight on the servers than the current mess.
Also, I bet if SE implemented an AH exactly like the one in FFXI because they were lazy and called it The Item Exchange Place nobody would even notice and say that it was neat and interesting.
P.S. Wolfie the pink pony in your sig. has the best "That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard" look I've seen in a while.

bs to that Look to WoW or ffxi and how many "afk'ers" are around the AH. And never move. >.> Also, there is no issue, the players are not satisifed for a STUPID reason: walking. sorry SE can't fix that issue. People just need to get over it. It doesn't take long to use the MW not with the search and marking system. Stop talking like that doesn't exist.AH botting is a lot less common than you think it is. But more importantly, if your feature fails at its primary duty because you designed it to be anti bot/RMT, then it's a bad feature. Player satisfaction should ALWAYS be first, and preventing RMT and whatever else should be distant seconds.
I still don't mind the market wards.. I think people complain too much on the matter tbh.
There SHOULD be an Auction House though in my opinion, just maybe limited to dealing with only certain types of merchandise?
I don't know.
Exactly. People are getting bent out of shape over names like "MW" and "AH" but they don't consider anything else. All I see is "Durr it's fine it's easy to use wuts ur problem u hater". It's kind of tiring. Like arguing with a brick wall. The current MW is like a rusty shit-box car. search window is your friend use it. I get gear in 5 min. Whats your excuse? What part of "Remove retainer interaction and add UI based market windows" don't people understand? Spot on. It's my reaction to reading most of the dev posts and player suggestions.
Did you ever stop to think that most of those people might just... be AFK? Since, you know, FFXI doesn't auto-disconnect your character.bs to that Look to WoW or ffxi and how many "afk'ers" are around the AH. Or maybe they're not bots, but people with too much free time on their hands (such as actual RMT, for which MW is not a deterrent)?
Whatever, I'm done replying to you. [Removed by Moderator according to the FINAL FANTASY XIV FORUM Guidelines.]

The fact that in WoW, under the same circumstances, it would take me ~3 minutes? Really, though, it's not even about time, for me.
I repeat: It's not even about the time it takes!
It's about the fact that the system is so far from being optimized that I can already tell it's going to be a problem forever if they don't nip it in the bud. I mean that literally, by the way. If they don't cut the problem off at its source (rendering the NPCs), this will never work right.
I'd rather have a good, organized, and stable system. They need to find a system with player's convenience in mind first, and then battling RMT second. Both are important, but right now, what they need is a working system. I don't think they need need 13 or more zones. It just puts more pressure on the server stability. If they would stop physically representing each person's retainer, it would let up a huge amount of server lag.
Also, I think they need to redesign the zone of the wards. First off, they need to make it one big room or area, with NPCs (enough to make it lively and feel like an actual bazaar while not messing with the server strength and stability). Sure, have different instances of it, but then make sure all of the items in each instance of the MW are pooled together and can be viewed from one or a few different main retainers. These retainers are "City Retainers", at which they are hired to collect and organize the items that you bring them.
As far as the "storage" complaint goes, they could in fact, like I said in a previous post, change retainers into Moogles, who collect and store your belongings for you. Now, if we could have a decent housing system they could be in there, but I suppose ringing a bell to summon them will work for now.

Insulting people in the counter argument isn't going to change their minds. It will make them stick harder to their opinion regardless of whether or not it's right, and think less of your opinion simply because you insulted them. In essence, if you want to try and change someone's mind, come up with a well thought-out response and don't be a dick.
I understand people like the idea of setting up their own shops, but the way real Bazaars (let's admit it, they're trying for a bazaar here) worked was like a flea market. You would bring the things you had, sell them to a merchant, and then that person would turn it around and sell it for a profit. I'm not saying the wards should be like that. In FFXIV the "merchants" should be hired to sell for you, and then you give them a tax for their services. Not EVERYONE in the city has the potential to be a merchant. The cities need to have NPCs specifically designed for selling your items. Can have a few in the same zone, spread out a bit to reduce area lag which seems to be such a big problem for people right now.
Also, I agree that it doesn't matter how long it takes. What matters to me is that it's unorganized and unstable.
