This post suggests to me (as usual, I get so tired of saying it) that you didn't actually READ my posts. I really don't know why I bother arguing with you. Oh well, such is life on the XIV forums. You're assuming that I have alternative motives, but you're wrong. I want the MW to be enjoyable to all players, and what would I have to gain from putting other players out and saying "f you" to them? I want this game to be successful because I want to continue to play with my friends and have a good time. I gain nothing from trolling or trying to put others and their ideas down. Apparently, you do. You yell at me, and give little constructive criticism to improve things. You and Wolfie apparently just want everything scrapped and done away with, which is very counter productive. Try helping the situation instead of hindering it.
I suggest buying from the search menu and consider myself using it as well. Maybe not constantly, but I would, I know it. I get impatient too, and sometimes gil just doesn't matter to me.
What reason would you have for using the wards themselves when you could buy from the menu? I can pretty much guarantee you will be one of about 2 percent of the population who will continue to venture into the wards if they did this. People don't want to have to work before they can have fun, and it just seems like needless taxation of servers and hardware when they could just do away with it altogether.
But sure whatever, I'm not going to bother coming back to this thread, it's just too biased either way (myself being heavily on the one side) to ever really come up with something constructive.
The situation CAN'T be helped. It's a fundamentally bad design. You're asking them to do more patchwork on the Frankenstein that MW has become.

Jesus christ why can't you people get this through your head?
Contrary to popular belief of players, some like to browse. I am one of them. I actually like going through retainers and see what people are selling and not even searching. Ridiculous time-wasting, right? Well, sometimes I do this and I enjoy it. It's fun for me, and at least for those who don't enjoy it could purchase from the instant menu. That's why I do want that implemented. I don't understand why people can't just advocate having that and stop demanding physical wards being taken away? Some people enjoy it, why would you take that away from them if there are alternatives? What reason would you have for using the wards themselves when you could buy from the menu? Man, I've just finished my R36 Archer quest and I already see another page on this argument =D
Either way:
Put the Wards -> Some people will hate it and ask to bring in the Auction House (Present)
Put the Auction House -> Some people will hate it and ask to bring back the Market Wards (Future)
That's TOTALLY going to happen, so why bother?
But wouldn't Eldaena's idea give you what you even if you get charged a little extra? I thought you just wanted a system where you go to a counter, find what you want, then buy it. Anyway that's the point to a compromise, no one gets what they really want. You lose a little cash and I lose a little time. I think it balances out.No, you're borderline trolling just like Sonic is. Look I've seen your posts many times before and they're usually brimming with fanboyism and a love for this game as it is. I'm yelling at you because your posts are ridiculous, you're rude, and you try to play it off like you want "everyone to be happy" when in reality you really just want to cater to the players in your small bunch who enjoy bad things.
You want things to be fair for everyone, so players should have to pay extra to use something that's in every other game, yet no other game charges for it. However, the players who are content with the dogshit market wards that are currently in XIV get off scott free, because hey fuck everybody else right? They should pay for not using this garbage that I love so much!
I can absolutely promise you more people will use the AH. You do realise you can't base the entire potential playerbase off these forums right? The only people left are pretty much hardcore fans and a few lingerers hoping it'll get better so they keep checking back.Man, I've just finished my R36 Archer quest and I already see another page on this argument =D

We already know the majority of people thought it was shit, that's why they ditched the game and about 5% of the original population is left.
There shouldn't need to be compromise over something so basic and fundamental. If you want to waste your time thats fair enough, but it shouldn't be reflected on what other people are doing. But wouldn't Eldaena's idea give you what you even if you get charged a little extra? As said above, you guys who enjoy them are absolutely not representative of a majority playerbase, there's even another MW thread on the page totally slating it, you guys just don't seem to be in it because there's no foothold to get hold of.

That, although worded somewhat bittersweet, is true. We who like going to retainers "waste" our time, while you get your items right a way with a small tax. I don't think that's bad...But wouldn't Eldaena's idea give you what you even if you get charged a little extra? Demacia, I think we'll have an easier time convincing a grizzly bear to part with her cub than to convince these guys that MW is bad.
They've invested emotional effort into a s***ty feature.
