Come on man, everyone know that the only way to fix a system that's very complex, unintuitive and limiting is to ADD MORE COMPLEXITY, OPTIONS, AND PENALTIES.Can't blame him for being angry when people like you and Kilta are posting your crazy posts here (With a hint of rudeness sprinkled into them). Instead of having a convenient system like EVERY OTHER GAME I should have to pay more or be forced to use something that some masochists and people with "unique" tastes prefer? Yeah awesome idea. Game of the year material.
Maybe I should have to pay 1 million gil every time I want to change my controls because GOOD DESIGN COMES AT A PRICE RIGHT?
I'm not raging, I'm just naturally sarcastic, and that doesn't translate well in text.
Anyway, I realize they're trying to fix it, and I'll agree that they've come a long way. I still say though, that the most efficient way to more or less complete the job would be to stop having physical wards and just let us buy from the search screen. I think I've posted that suggestion in this thread (they start to run together after a while).
I find immersion in it, but that's me, and you're entitled to feel immersed or not. However, people aren't fully enjoying the system as it is now, and practically everyone wanting to keep the wards wants changes made to it.Not really angry, it's just frustrating that people seem to enjoy the crappy system, and would continue to try and argue it should be in despite such overwhelmingly negative feedback and it being cited as one of the main reasons by reviewers that the game sucks.
If these forums are the place the majority of feedback is being taken from, that's not likely to change.
I don't see where you're getting this idea from that I find the market wards challenging? You're right, it's not hard to find a stupid red star. The point is, it's also not convenient to have to go find it. I should be able to buy something off the list, the act of having to zone 2+ times to get what I want is just unbelievably stupid, which is precisely why the game bombed so hard. Stupid decisions like that.
I just don't get the positives, what are they? Where are they?
There's no 'immersion' factor in a bunch of lifeless NPCs stood in a gloomy room together, what does it add to the game experience for you people?
I think we're all on the same side, but people keep fighting like we're not. If we pooled good ideas together and stopped fighting against one another and trolling, etc, then maybe we could come up with ideas the developers would actually listen to.
You don't have to address me to insult me. Also none of your posts have a solution other than "scrap it".I can and have argued my case damn well. Read above. Rendered retainers brings several issues with MW that literally cannot be fixed, because it's a bad design. Your retorts were personal anecdotes that amount to nothing more than "that's just, like, your opinion, man" with one or two half baked solutions. Crashing will never be as good as a counter/text based system because it's unscalable and there's too much overhead involved in having to render the NPCs. Searching is barely passable, and will still never be as good or as fast as a counter/text based system, because you still have to run back to the search counter after you make your purchase. Maybe if you had put in more effort and thoughts into your posts, I'd have dignified you with better responses.
And for the record, I wasn't even addressing you when I quoted you.
Please explain to me how scrapping the physical aspect of a retainer is scrapping the whole system. What I'm asking for would still let you browse retainers, but from a menu interface and not by dragging your character through a dungeon full of zombies.
The entire game is an overhead of rendered graphics. The thing is, one side sees the MW as an inconvenient necessity to be gotten through as quickly as possible, and the other sees it as a possible interaction that could be very fun and immersive part of the game. Opinions will differ, that doesn't make anyone wrong.I can and have argued my case damn well. Read above. No, you're borderline trolling just like Sonic is. Look I've seen your posts many times before and they're usually brimming with fanboyism and a love for this game as it is. I'm yelling at you because your posts are ridiculous, you're rude, and you try to play it off like you want "everyone to be happy" when in reality you really just want to cater to the players in your small bunch who enjoy bad things.Raging too, I see. ^^; Do you agree there is a lot of gil in circulation in this game? I wasn't thinking it wouldn't cost as much to tax an instant transaction as Sonic thought, but are you really that against this idea? It's what you want, but not as easy as you wanted it so you're yelling at me?
I'm not crazy, I'm trying to be a mediator. I want everyone to be happy and for things to be fair.
You want things to be fair for everyone, so players should have to pay extra to use something that's in every other game, yet no other game charges for it. However, the players who are content with the dogshit market wards that are currently in XIV get off scott free, because hey fuck everybody else right? They should pay for not using this garbage that I love so much!
I'll repost what I said earlier. This is what I want.
You can ignore me if you want, but I'm trying to look at it objectively. I want the people that like owning little shops to be happy and the people that want a quick buy to be happy and I think Eldaena's idea does that.
You're assuming that I have alternative motives, but you're wrong. I want the MW to be enjoyable to all players, and what would I have to gain from putting other players out and saying "f you" to them? I want this game to be successful because I want to continue to play with my friends and have a good time. I gain nothing from trolling or trying to put others and their ideas down. Apparently, you do. You yell at me, and give little constructive criticism to improve things. You and Wolfie apparently just want everything scrapped and done away with, which is very counter productive. Try helping the situation instead of hindering it.No, you're borderline trolling just like Sonic is. I suggest buying from the search menu and consider myself using it as well. Maybe not constantly, but I would, I know it. I get impatient too, and sometimes gil just doesn't matter to me.
Edit: Sorry, Wolfie apparently just wants the physical aspect removed, but if you can buy from the menu it hardly matters to people that want to use that or not if there is a physical part, whilst people that enjoy the zoned wards can still do so.
And for the record, having a different opinion isn't trolling. Bashing others, yelling at them and calling them stupid or their ideas thus, is.

That part is not, I meant the idea of market wards in general, my appologies. If it were working as intended, I wouldn't mind as much. But I doubt SE intended for Battlecraft to always be full and for everyone else that wants to sell weapons to pay 2.5x as much tax. Not that I'm saying the taxes are steep--far from it, but they've actually succeeded in preventing us from doing what they were trying to encourage us to do. If that's working as intended, something is very wrong.
