I guess so. Maybe 'immersion' to them is not being drawn into the tasks of the game? But rather immersed in not paying attention to the intricacy and story of what the game and tasks offer? Maybe I'm just more observant and willing to place what some consider 'tedious' into a story, which it technically is, of the character and their tasks. I guess if I didn't think of things in this manner I could become annoyed with it too, but it seems self-defeating to view the game in this in a way that makes you not appreciate what you're doing. =(
