Relic Reborn Hydra... My experience

So after a while, today I beat Chimera. Coolios...

Then came the hydra... to be fair, first time doing the fight and we made it to like 30% of the boss's HP, thanks to vets and their detailed explanations.

2 hours in... not a single win, due to numerous reasons...

1. DPS didnt kill the Wyvern add in time, Buffs the boss and that claw that shreds 4k dmg even with shield oath... scary

2. It took numerous tries but the mages had to learn to not be in the middle... and they learnt, at my expense... still didnt help, kept dying by Fear Itself >_<

3. Constant positioning due to the boss's circle dropping on the tanks... then the dps exceed our aggro SOMEHOW, and they go after them... its happened 2 or 3 times.

4. Toxic players. my FIRST time ever encountering someone toxic here. a scholar and a bard... they were talking trash, i just kept joking around, keep the good mood, cause in a frustrating fight, its the only thing that keeps you going :| the SCH kept switching jobs mid party and we wouldnt notice till the fight started and the BRD was negative... sigh, though i could avoid these kinds of people...

What about everyone else? any stories of misfortune on while doing Relic Reborn?

You did what ya could, try to keep things positive. The Relic Reborn quest chain can be a very frustrating (but very epic) experience. I've encountered some people with poor character from time to time, but the other half of the community is even more noteworthy.

When I first did a Relic Reborn I was beating my head against Titan HM for a week until I joined a particular group that had members in it that wouldn't give up until they got us victory (even though they didn't need the fight themselves). They kept with it for hours, brought in FC members to help, and were very patient and friendly with those of us that weren't already geared in relics. Since I've got my relic now I've been trying to do the same and help others down Titan.

The community in FFXIV, despite popular belief, is outstanding. Can't let the few bad apples spoil our perceptions.
