Suggestion: Dilettante (Artist) class

As Blue Mage seems to be a popular idea for a future job in Final Fantasy XIV, I figured I'd suggest a class that I believe would be creative and different.

The 'Dilettante' class can be related mostly to Relm in Final Fantasy VI, where you sketch your enemies and use an ability of theirs. So obviously their weapons will be something involving pens, brushes, etc.

Just in case you're not sure what I'm talking about, here's Relm.

Dilettante refers to:

A person who claims an area of interest, such as the arts, without real commitment or knowledge.
A person with an amateur interest in the arts.

I feel like the name is fairly appropriate

I guess to unlock Blue Mage, you would use this as the main, and Arcanist as the secondary?

Overall, I think it would be good to have Blue Mage as a DD with a couple of support spells (Mighty Guard, Pearl/White Wind, etc).

We talk alot about jobs and wishlists for them but the class which the job is built from seems to be often overlooked so I actually think this is a really cool idea! It's different yet still within the lore of final fantasy. Kudos to your good idea, I support it! =D

I think the only thing that would hold it back is more-less the Blue Mage wields a sword as a primary weapon (Sabre). So if they made Brushes and Pens that could also go up to the cap level as well as swords that Blue Mages could wield I would find the idea completely sound. But I like the idea and it is a job/class that has not been used in FFXI as far as Dilettante goes.

well every class gets it's weapon, gladiator/paladins have swords... why can't blue mages weild some type of new paintbrush/weapon hybrid.

As an artist (writer here!) myself, I fully support this idea. I've secretly always wanted something like this - thank you Yellow for painting this thread! I bet you used yellow, too...
