    This game needs more challenge.

I know that there has been threads about this and I do agree with them, that is why I am posting this to spread people who think like me and them and maybe get attention.

For those who played in FFXI or even other games relating to it.. Don't you miss the thrill about the "Impossible to gauge" monsters wandering around surprising you and you have to stop and/or avoid it because you can't defeat it by yourself or you have to call your guild mates for help to kill it?
That you have to get as much buff as possible and even have some potions with you just to prepare for the battle?
When it takes awhile to kill it, but in the end it will not drop anything? But you're feeling that you still achieved something..
But when that rare item drops, you feel like you're the richest man in the world wearing it or once you sold it to the Auction House.

FATEs are becoming more like a leveling system.. or it already is.

I feel the game needs more of a concept of fear and depth and challenge but... Not without the players being rewarded.

I feel like the dodging of AoE's and whatnot are a step in the right direction for breaking up the monotonous gameplay in MMORPG's, but that stun lock skills and having to force the players to swap in new tanks or something similar, which I vaguely remember being the case from FFXI, isn't the right idea.

I can't think of the big MMORPG game changer idea combat wise right now, but I do truly feel like there's something that can be done outside of RT Action Combat games like Vindictus and its like. I would like to see skill/party chaining return, but this is all stuff I can 'wait' for.

Well you can still play FF11 if you want those mechanics that much.

If you've beaten Turn 5 and all the Ex Primals then maybe I can concede your point.

I agree with you in some respects. But disagree with you in others.

To be frank, I find some of the boss fights on this game to be frustrating and stressful and a little too challenging for my tastes. I don't like it when a little bit of lag or a slight distraction is enough to spell instant doom for your whole group. Because when I play games I like to relax and have fun. Not be annoyed by instant-death eye-hand coordination mechanics and lag.

Now in respects to the game world itself -outside the realm of instanced boss fights and a few horribly laggy fates - I agree with you. There isn't enough challenge. There is no incentive what-so-ever to group up when exploring Eorzea. Most of it is too easy to solo, let alone does it encourage multi-play.

That's the problem with this game and about every other MMO that has attempted to become the next World of Warcraft They are essentially solo games and the only multi-player challenge found is inside a few of the instanced boss fights.

But an even bigger issue for this game is the lack in depth of game play. There is not enough interesting choices when it comes to building your actual character. And that's what harms this game more than anything else in my opinion. I feel more like a mindless cog in SE's game design than my own unique character.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. But for those who are talking about Primals EX and other raids, sorry if you mistook the title of this thread. But my point is the main message, the one OUT of duty.

We need something to make us players explore the world in game, not just rely everything in duty.. No offense, I love the game, but it doesn't feel like a total open world no more. It's more like: challenge this in limited arena and keep trying over and over until you win.

Standing on a mob's foot and just curing through damage isn't any more challenging than what we have here. I never understood why people seem to think it was.
