Gears sets/ Hot bar changes not staying saved

1. I update my gear set for new weapon/armor or add new spell to hotbar
2. Finish my gaming session and log out
3. Next time I log in the changes I made to gear set/hot bar have reverted so I have to re-change it each time.

Oh my gosh thank goodness I found someone else experiencing this issue! A lot of people have this happen to them because they don't realize sets and hotbars are saved locally and they are switching between PC and PS3. For me, and I am assuming for OP, we are not switching between the two.

I have the PS3 Slim. Sorry that isn't too specific, but I go through the same steps as OP and the same thing happens.

I've figured out what the problem is, however not what caused the problem. I checked the saved data on my ps3 and for some reason the save files labeled system data and my character had not been updated in in several weeks even though i play almost every day and correctly logout after each session. I deleted the files, logged in and had to completely re-setup EVERYTHING (hot bars, gear sets, hud layout, preferences, settings). It was a pain but since then the file updates correctly and i haven't had anything revert since.

This is a "known" issue with corrupt game save file(s) on PS3 - the only solution (as already mentioned in the post above) is to remove the corrupted save file(s) - there is one per each character - and then redo all your local settings like crossbars, macros and gear sets. All the character progress, inventory and gil are stored server side so you'll not loose any of that.
