See, if the differences are really that unnoticeable, I'd love to see some sort of support there. Here's my thinking; I like the thought of having a male Hyur Paladin, and a Miqo'te Monk (and perhaps eventually Dragoon). If they eventually add a Dark Knight or Samurai, I would probably also prefer that to be on my Hyur. If they were to add a new race, though, I might decide I like the thought of a different class as their race.

The problem, I think, is that you become so invested in a single character, playing more than one just isn't even remotely feasible. Like I said, I'm not sure what a good solution is, but it's definitely something I think is worth considering, in any case. Of course, should they ever make Fantasia Potions available again, that would negate some of that effect. Maybe remove the ability to name-change, though, just to prevent players from escaping bad reputations (if there's a legitimate need for a name-change, it could always go through Support).

Finally updated the original post, condensed a bit. Also, I nixed my original #11 suggestion, since thinking about it, it was actually a good move to lose abilities when you sync-level. :P

Hold in on Shift while you're dragging things around. You still can't see what they're snapping to, but HUD elements will snap every so many pixels. No idea if there's an equivalent for dragging with the gamepad's mouse mode.

Edit: Actually, now that I think about it, there is an on-screen grid when you're in HUD layout, isn't there? Things might snap to that if they're at their default size. I know it's been off when I've moved things around, but everything I've used the snap on, I've resized.

To keep new players from being excluded/overwhelmed in leveling content. They'd either have to spend loads of time balancing every ability at every level, or end up with some things being completely over/under-powered, and a miserable experience for new players. Locking out skills keeps things balanced without a ton of work, which lets them spend that time balancing endgame etc.

    2. 'Humanoid behemoth' isn't far off the Amalj'aa.

I think there'd be sizing issues though, given that Roegadyn are nearly twice the height of some Miqo'te, and the Amalj'aa are significantly taller than that.

With Lalafells in the game though, I suppose the door is open for Goblins and Slyphs. Not sure how a Slyph pugilist would work though, with no legs.

Actually, as far as races go; I don't know the name of these guys, but in Limsa Lominsa I've seen a couple of reptilian NPC's. They're about the height of an Elezen, but have a really interesting look to them. Granted, they seem a bit "passive-looking", so if made playable, I'd probably recommend adding more tough-looking customization options, but regardless, they look pretty cool. Only issue would be, they would probably need to have a lot of armor custom-fit to their models, which would mean a lot more work, but I could really see a race like that rounding-out the current race options.

Mamool Ja. They were in XI as well as a pure-enemy, and they're either NPCs or mobs in XIV. Would be interesting if they made them into the new race when it comes out.

Hmm, doesn't appear to work. Shame, since that would definitely be a Godsend right now, as I *hate* trying to manage the UI. I'm a bit obsessive-compulsive, so if the pixels are off even a little, it just drives me insane. Conversely, it would be nice to have a "Reset UI to Default" option, as well.

Strange, just tested it. You do have to "pick up" the windows and move them a bit first, then hold shift to get them to start snapping. The windows I've left at 100% size are snapping their left and top edges to the visible grid lines in /hudlayout.

No idea what would get it not working. I am in full screen windowed mode, though I wouldn't think that would change anything.

Yes, that lizard race is the mamool'ja, they're yet another race from FFXI added to FFXIV (lore wise they're stated as originating in the mysterious western continent that Limsa recently discovered, and that they've been lured east to Eorzea to fill labour shortages due to the Calamity, so they're basically just a migrant workforce to be exploited.

Ahh, cool to know! Either way, I think they look awesome! I wonder, though, what sort of culture they have? Knowing absolutely nothing about them, part of me likes the idea of maybe them having a "tribal" sort of culture? Throw some war-paint on them, some exotic piercings, maybe even sort of a Jamaican accent (so underutilized!), and I could easily see those guys being my new favorite race :P

Of course, there are probably other options, too! I just don't want another "human-looking race". I've heard the Viera won some kind of pole amongst players, but I honestly don't see them adding anything *new* to the game. I'd still love to see Moogles made playable, though :P
