i bught a ff xiv dvd today and i used my registration code but i cant creat a character becuase i didnt add any

once i click start
it says
proper options must be added to a final fantasy xiv service acoount be fore a character can be created.
how ever, where i can get for Activation my free trial for 30 days ? it's with the ff xiv dvd or i have to get it online ?please link it to me

I belive you're looking for this site. The game is currently free to play for everyone until they say otherwise, so there should be no need to register anything in particular. . .

Once you added a character service account, your trial is activated and you can start playing until the trial period is out and it will get extended until they start to charge you monthly for the game.

(You can cancel it at anytime.)

You register with a click and buy account and your credit card, they will not charge you for anything until Square Enix states that they will be starting to charge players for the game.

At least that's what i had to do
