"i thought cleric stance was good because u can heal and dps at the same time"

rlly... I said to you multiple times, "don't heal in cleric stance" you said "thats how I pvp heal" This whole thing could be a huge troll, but I'm gonna try and make amends anyways since your screen shot made me look like a total asshat.

It seems like everytime I solo Q, you're my healer ali, and you die instantly without ever healing. Not to mention, you don't Stoneskin, regen, or medica II before the fight. Now that rage in that post was because I got you like 8 times no matter where I went to try and dodge you, 30's, 40's, I kept getting put in you group. I’m sorry but sitting in a 30min Q only to come into the match and know you're gonna lose, is very frustrating. I let my emotions get the best of me.

If you don't understand how your class even works in general why would you think you should be q'ing in PvP. If this is your first time PvPing ever, or even your first MMO ever, try doing some research and understanding how your class works, and how the PvP system works before just Qing into PvP and making people lose or carry you. If you were a DPS or even a tank you would probably get a lot less rage, because as a healer you actually need to do your job at least a little to win the match.

You say that your trying to get better, and at least your trying right? So if thats true I will drop what little knowledge I have on WHM on you right now. I hope this will allow you at least some help. I'm going to do my best to refrain from raging, and sounding like a douche during this post.

First off, since you're new don't worry about cleric stance, hell don't even worry about doing any DPS at all. Take it off your bar.

Your a WHM, so your biggest advantage is that you have many HoT (heal over time) effects that you can stack on your allies. Try your best to keep as many if not all of these up at all times on your allies. These spells include: Regen and Medica II.

Stoneskin is a very strong shield that can significantly reduce the burst damage a target is taking, but it also has a very long cast time. Use this ability at the beginning of the fight on every person, and pet. Then continue to re apply this to yourself, and caster targets *before* they start taking damage, this shield will prevent a caster from being interrupted while casting. Use this to your advantage.

Ensuna- One of the most important jobs as a healer will be to Ensuna status effects off of your allies. With the SMN being as powerful as it is atm there will be a lot of status effects everywhere. If you see a status effect- try to ensuna. Of Course certain effects should take precedent namely: Sleep>Stormspath>Disease>Heavy>DoTs

Cure II is basically the only other heal you will use in PvP. So feel free to take cure 1 off the bar. Remember this is still a pretty long cast so if you don't have stoneskin on yourself, use surecast, presence of mind, or quick cast to ensure your going to get it off.

Swiftcast, and SureCast are necessary cross-class skills for PVP, if you don't have them, go level THM right now to get them. As a WHM you don't have the crutch of 6 lustrates to rely on. You will be casting things, and you need all the help you can get to cast them.

Fluid Aura, if something is attacking you, use this skill. It will knock them back and bind them in place. This is usually best followed up with a repose, which will hard CC them.

Repose- this is a very strong CC. Since you're just starting off and you're mostly soloQ, i would recommend using this skill in a defensive way. In many matches the tank will focus the healer. If you see the tank start running for you, switcast Repose, or if you feel like you're going to have time hard cast it. There are times that repose will be better than healing when you get more comfortable you can find more offensive ways to Repose targets. Right now its most important to worry about making sure your not going to die within the first 30 seconds of the fight.

Protect doesn’t affect PvP damage, While its a decent buffer to keep from getting other things dispelled by wither or one ilm punch its not a big deal.

    PvP Skills and abilities:

Purify- this should be your first purchase. If a healer is slept for 30 seconds and has no way to break out, the game is over. Its also important to recognize when your opponents don’t have a Sleeper on their team and to use Purify to rid yourself of other CC, or SMN DoT’s. There is nothing more annoying than trying to Fester or Bane someone that has already dropped their DoT’s

Divine Breath- This should be your second purchase. Instant cast rez. When your tank dives into the enemy team behind the wall and gets globaled, you can get him up without wasting swiftcast. You will also want to purchase all the additional enhancements to this in time starting with the 50% HP/MP

Attunement- this should be your 4th purchase after getting 50% HP/MP on Breath. Use this cooldown when multiple things are attacking you, they will generally continue to do so for a few seconds afterward, then switch. If you are low on health already before using this CD try to get a regen, or medica 2 off first, this will allow you to heal yourself while attuned.

Equanimity- 5th purchase- although this is late, good use of your other cooldowns should allow you enough leeway to put this one off. This skill should be used when your being split pushed (both you and another person, or multiple people are taking significant damage simultaneously) you can use it to ensure casts won’t be interrupted for the duration of the ability. Use this time to get off long casts and heal everyone to full.

After that I would get 20sec equanimity> recast on divine breath> sacred prism> aetheric burst> 50% skill on aetheric> recast on attune>cure potency of prism>mana draw

Positioning is important for all classes, but as a healer positioning is a vital part of playing the role. You should always try to position yourself in a way that you can easily get out of LoS (line of sight) from someone if they decide to attack you. Don't stand in the open and hard cast heal expecting someone isn't going to interrupt that heal, a good team will. Don’t ever overextend as a healer, if you get stuck out of position you will be CC’d there and someone on your team will die. DPS and TANKS on your team should do their best to not dive too hard into a fight they cannot win, but if they do you need to rez them at your earliest convenience.

Kiting- running from and enemy while using LoS and other tools at your disposal to keep the enemy from killing you. You should never just stand in one spot and let someone hit you. Your a squishy target. If a melee DPS is attacking you, running around corners and then back will slow them down, using Heavy, knockback, Bind and sleep effectively will also keep the heat off you. If you see someone start running towards you, start to run away before they get to you, pop sprint and stay near the pole, or walls to keep out of LoS from ranged targets. A common problem with healers is that they will focus too much on kiting and not enough on healing their allies, don’t fall into this trap. It is very important as a healer to recognize where your allies and enemies are on the map and what they are doing, or about to do. Situational awareness and being proactive by knowing what will probably happen in a fight will come in time, but for now just try to use your abilities correctly and hopefully the rest will come in time.

I’m sure I’m missing things, since I don’t play WHM. I have played with quite a few WHM and understand how the class basics work. People rage at you because you didn’t come to PvP prepared to assist your team to succeed. These matches are short and there isn’t enough time to teach someone even the basics of their class. Your supposed to have picked that up while leveling from 1-50. If somehow you missed out on that hopefully this post will assist you in someway. I would recommend also watching other healers healing in PvP and try to pick up what they do. I know twitch.tv/dusty_slippers is a good SCH stream. I used to know a good WHM stream but it’s no longer active. Maybe someone else can point in the direction of one.
