I keep noticing people in PvP who are completely rude to others.

I've seen tons of people tell others they shouldn't even be in PvP because of their gear.
Now I fully understand that sentiment in dungeons (gear is tiered so if you get i50/55 af and try to do pharos you are wasting people's time), but this is pvp. It's a short couple-minute match. If people are new to it, it should be just fine to have new gear.

I also see lots of people telling other people they are horrible (including myself). If I don't wake someone up when they are slept then i'm the "worst healer ever," even if i'm being stunned and trying to keep a bunch of dd's alive.
If a dd gets killed in a few hits they are a terrible DD, regardless of what anyone else did.

This is a game meant to be fun. You aren't getting any super magical awards from it. So why not just be nice to people? Thank them for trying, point out how they could do better, etc.

But there is honestly no reason to be a jerk, or to try to blame specific people for losses.

I have to agree. I've played a lot of MMORPGs, and this game has by far the most vile community I have ever seen. Final A-Hole 14 would be a better name for it.

It's PVP if you aren't a huge rude a** to everyone and anyone you ever meet. Than you shouldn't be playing PvP.

Heck i've seen ppl kill ppl in RL over pokemon cards and madden as well as CoD and many many other games. I think a game isn't truly considered a game until someone goes and kills someone cause they beat them in it or something. /sarcasm

PvP community has always been more hostile than PvE community because PvP community cannot understand why some people are clickers, why some people cannot play their class properly so on and so forth. PvP community people are people who don't really follow rules, so if given a scripted event they are more likely to die due to wanting to push their limits. However, those in the PvP community who practice restraint can always almost certainly clear any PvE content.

This has been so for any sort of MMORPG.

I think the hostility in Crystal Tower is able to compete with Wolves' Den here and there! It's not just about PVP compared to PVE, once anonymity comes into play (random queued content) chances are somewhat high that people become "hostile" and this didn't start with FFXIV.

I wouldn't flame like those guys did, but I would at least ask what the deal was. Maybe, as his name on the forum says, he was trolling the pvp arena. A few screen shots =/= that he is a victim.

I totally get where you guys are coming from, but maybe you shouldn't have told them they were bad in the first place? I work my ass off as a healer and try very hard to do a good job and multiple people from your FC have been huge jerks. If your healer is trying their best and you guys are dodging between poles and stuff so no heal will ever hit, there isn't much a healer can do.
And then when your party says stuff like "worst healer ever," i doubt they will try very hard if they get paired with you again.

Stuff happens, sometimes healers get multi-slept, or multi-stunlocked. And once you burn a purify there isn't much you can do. For sch, lustrate is broken in the pvp arena and doesn't hit the intended target sometimes if they are literally standing still infront of you. and sometimes damage just out-does lustrate even if you spam it. Maybe if you have full i70 slotted gear it would help, but 55 gear makes little difference, and i enter with nearly full pve i90 (with some i70 pvp pieces) and if 4 ppl manage to zerg me and stun me enough, i'm down and there isn't much I can do.

I know not -everyone- in your FC is like that (and I actually think you've said some nice things before). But when the same people insult healers over and over and over again I can kind of see why they wouldn't want to cure you anymore. I tried b-listing one of your members in hopes i wouldn't have to deal with them (they complained after i healed quite a lot) but that doesn't stop duty finder from teaming you up.

I mean i get alexandrious's point of view (he talked to me about it and stuff and hes a nice guy)
But it would just be a lot cooler if everyone could act respectfully
And if someone is really sucking or botting, just ignore it / report it / tell them how to improve

Comments like "worst healer ever" "you suck" "go die" "you're horrible" etc just aren't necessary. And when you say it to healers (who seem to get blamed a lot even when they do well) it really discourages them from trying hard.

I will always try my best, but sometimes i make mistakes, sometimes things go wrong, sometimes people split up and i have to "choose" who to heal, etc. That doesn't make me a bad healer, or anyone else bad at their job. And i know for a fact -many- people on our server and specifically in your FC seem to think it does.

Just an addition: lots of people in your FC are great. Some people are obviously getting frustrated. That doesn't make them a bad person or wrong. PvP is really frustrating so i totally get the anger. But it would just be nice if -all people- could consider others when they are at least trying.

The main point of this thread was that this is a game. You're supposed to do it for fun. If something is upsetting you, maybe you should take a break and try something else instead of grinding through it. I love PvP even when i get my butt handed to me, it's a fun quick thing to do when i want a few min break from work. But when people are constantly rude (more often to others than to me) it just really bothers me. And I will stop healing to tell someone to be nicer or respectful or defend someone, because being a jerk just isn't cool. If i saw someone being bullied irl i would step in. And I will on here too.
