Movement settings - Standard or Legacy Type?

Legacy is by far the best way to play in my opinion. Standard is just painful when you need to get out of AOE's, that backpedaling.... Also I prefer the rotation of camera vs character for things like Titan for bird's eye view. Makes keeping track of everything while still moving the right way easier. I do typically play healer, so this may be part of it. But that backpedaling killed me too many times on aoe's in tight spaces.

It is a legitimate complaint, people butcher the English language constantly, and the meaning of the two words is totally different :x

for anything caster i go legacy because they wont loose anything by legacy
for others i go mostly standard
i would like some combination of boths, or modified standard/legacy as i have issues with both, or third mode specially designed for me XD
for example i dont like to have extra keys for strafe with legacy, why it wont change "go left" to "strafe left" while holding right mouse key ?
or standard, as we doesn't have 180 degrees "action/view radius" "auto face on action" is both good and bad as it messes up your movement at times

I use legacy on Monk, but play with the right mouse button depressed at all times for mouse look, and strafe round targets/out of AoE whilst adjusting camera to maintain facing.

But might not be everyone's cup of tea.

I use Legacy and then rebind Move Left to Strafe Left and vice versa. Best of both worlds.

Seriously. Do it.

Why? When you press 'S' your character does not walk backwards at a snails pace. They turn around and run. This is basically required to get out of the way of AOE's.

Strafe and mouse turning is all one needs to get out of AoEs efficiently. I'd hardly call Legacy's movement necessary. I'll say one thing though - I'm surprised at the number of people who... apparently think backpedaling was/is the only way to move with standard controls? o.0

The Legacy settings weird me out. They play like TERA's controls, so I feel like my mouse should be locked but it's not and then I just get sad.

Legacy camera was designed for legacy players, and standard for non legacy. You should choose based on which you are.
