    the game or the whole ps3 shuts down?
    if it shuts down with 3 bips and a blinking red led, start backing up stuff and looking for a replacement :x

    I'm sorry to tell you, but Zohno is right, sounds like you're slowly heading in RLOD territory... I've had this issue twice on my old FAT ps3, ended up buying a new one. It will get to the point where the system doesn't turn on anymore, so if you have stuff on it that you want to keep, back it up right now and don't run any software until you have.
