[Could devs answer] Status cap ?

    Hi,

Please excuse my poor English. I hope you will understand.
Today I got my hand on information that every character has got status cap.

To put it simply for example, I am summoner with 490 accuracy, but I was told that
last 40 points does not count for my character, because he is capped at 450. (I can't see that anywhere )

I don't understand this, why is my accuracy still increasing in status when it does not add a thing for my character and it's capped already.

Why I don't see the capped number in another colour. So I know accuracy does not count anymore.

Then if I build let's say crit over spell speed, critical will be capped and I will still put more and more to crit - (wasted points, because already capped..)

Could devs and anyone hop in discussion and help with answer, please. I am really confused about this. Why I don't see this cap in stat. ?

Accuracy is the only stat with a hard cap as far as I know. It's not actually "capped" by the game (which is why you can keep putting more points into it), but once you reach the accuracy cap for your job, you have a 0% chance to miss against any mob up through Turn 5. Thus, stacking more accuracy beyond the cap is entirely useless since having a chance to hit above 100% doesn't do anything.

For casters, 432 accuracy will give you 100% chance to hit all the way up to Twintania. For physical DPS, 472 accuracy is the cap. Summoners are a bit weird because you only need 432 accuracy for your own spells to hit, but your pet has a higher accuracy requirement (around 450, I think?). One thing to note is that not every monster requires the same amount of accuracy. You need 472 accuracy to have 100% hit chance against Twintania as a MNK, but that number is lower for turn 4, and lower still for turns 1-3 and primals.

On the other hand, you can stack as much crit, det, and spellspeed as you want. There are no hard caps for those attributes, or at least, none that we can reach with current gear levels. There are also materia caps on each meldable item, but that's another mechanic altogether.

So there are no caps for my other stats like int, mind, determination, vitality, strenght etc. ? People in my fc say there are caps on those stats as well for each character.

there isnt a real cap except hit ( 450 is the hit u need for twintania ) all other stats give u improvements but maybe its better to get 15 determination instead of 5 crit

maybe u need more hit for odin fate cuz its a lvl 55 mob dunno really but if u have the 450 hit u shouldnt go for more cuz i think with that u can hit everything ^^

    sry for crappy english

If there are caps for those stats, it's not possible to reach them with the gear we currently have available. Some stats are weighted more than others for each class, though, so spellspeed is not worth as much to your SMN as crit rate or determination. But this has more to do with the mechanics of each job than any particular game system.
