    Lockouts: The game

So sad that games need to restrict how often you can play just to milk more subscription fees from you. People were up in arms about the stamina system in 1.0 keeping you from leveling too fast but now that leveling is done in a week here they decided to put a cap on how often you can play the game a week.

The game feels like a cash-grab, they made the safest model of MMO and decided not to take any risks. The game will also be forever limited by the console it is tied to and you're deluding yourself (or play on said console) if you don't believe that.

Yes, this game is a very decent and polished themepark but that is all it is. Every patch will release a new dungeon so you can get gear to do 5% more damage so you're ready for the next dungeon where the mobs have 5% more hp. Lower content becomes trivial as you continue along the extremely gated power-creep giving you about 1-3 actually challenging dungeons to play each patch.

I got into GW2 recently and it has opened my eyes. No subscription fee and they pump out content faster than FFXIV has. Holiday events that are more than go do a fate three times. Can do as many dungeons as I want, and they all remain difficult. Leveling that isn't a faceroll (seriously I die more in a hour on GW2 than I did 1-50 on FFXIV, which isn't hard since I died once on FFXIV). A personal story that is fully voice acted, a world that is also fully voice acted. I could go on but I won't.

So why are you not on GW2? Obviously you still like this game more deep down or else you wouldn't feel the need to post on here about how much fun you're having. Oh and a lot of us can vouch, the honeymoon dies QUICK in GW2. You can't dodge roll forever.

Came from GW2. Left after they implemented Ascended gear and the only place to grind it was ... FotM and gear was dropped based on super low RNG or by crafting from insane amount of tokens required. Not sure how they are faring now. Maybe might go back and check up on GW2.

And oh yea, was super pissed off after they promised to fix ranger and after 3 months not a proper fix in sight.

is a necessary evil thing to do. Unless you want to be bored after you've completed the content within weeks time.

Ascended gear is for the people from themeparks who NEED a gear grind. There's a picture showing the difference between exotic and ascended shoulderpads, it's 1 stat point on two different stats. It won't change the outcome of any fight but for people who "need" best in slot gear there is something for them to work towards.

No la, was relaxing getting all my different vanity sets slowly from each dungeon.

You know how rage inducing it is to be told suddenly (after they tell you no vertical progression) that all your sets of gear is obsolete in an instance? (Yes I am a bloody min/maxer darn it 5% is 5% to much of an increase).

For FF14, just waiting to see how fast they going to do gear progression. Once a year is still ok. But if 2.2 has ilvl 95~100 gear, then I, sigh, will have to re-evaluate the game. Especially thanks to weekly lockout. I am getting gear at a snails pace, for my main and sub classes.

It will happen. People already quit WoW at the end of a patch/expansion, and WoW is a huge time-sinker progression-wise thanks to heroic raiding being so hard. Imagine in Final Fantasy XIV where progression stops at Twintania/myth grinding.

Milk more fees? ... I'm confused. You pay SE more than once a month?

If you didn't enjoy the game, why would you sub? I sub because the game outside of Raids is fun. Why do you sub?
