Lockouts: The game

I got into GW2 recently and it has opened my eyes. No subscription fee and they pump out content faster than FFXIV has. Holiday events that are more than go do a fate three times. Can do as many dungeons as I want, and they all remain difficult. Leveling that isn't a faceroll (seriously I die more in a hour on GW2 than I did 1-50 on FFXIV, which isn't hard since I died once on FFXIV). A personal story that is fully voice acted, a world that is also fully voice acted. I could go on but I won't.

The crap in GW2 doesn't count as "content." Most of it is garbage where you run around repeatedly pressing the F key or you finish it in about half an hour. Once you hit 80 there is literally nothing to do in the game other than collect different armor skins for fashion reasons. I will say that GW2 had an amazingly fun and fluid combat system but other than that there wasn't much to the game. If they put out actual substantial content then there wouldnt be new stuff every 2 weeks.

If you didn't enjoy the game, why would you sub? I sub because the game outside of Raids is fun. Why do you sub?

because human thats why
they hate the game yet they keep play to spread their hate
or maybe they think SE will delete their account if they stop sub even awhile
they love other game and keep compare to FFXIV yet they post only whining, only several player actually post suggestion

Because some people would end their subs once they had their fun and felt done to wait for the next content patch that is likely months away.

You mean, the same people who would spend a day running endless Coils for full i90 for every job, then unsub within the week if we didn't have lockouts... Lockouts are required to give meaning to gear not top tier. MMO's are about wasting time. If the game isn't wasting your time, it's not doing it right.
The trick is to be an entertaining waste of time. For me, XIV is that.

If all you want to do is the max level raids for the very best gear... go play a single player RPG, You'll likely get more entertainment value from it.

Bro GW2 is garbage past 80. It was fun leveling but the game does a nose dive at max level. Also Gw2 graphics look like crap compared to FF14

Honestly, between maxing myth, trying to do my daily roulettes for all the bonuses, doing CT several times a week to get my one drop and leveling alts, I don't really have time for anything else. Sure, you get locked out of certain content like Coil once you beat a turn, but it's not like there isn't a ton of stuff to do each week. Heck, I didn't even mention farming trials for weapons and accessories...

I think you will be back once you realize MMOs are a shadow of what they once were. Any game that tries to break the mold and do things differently flops. I'm quite bitter that my favorite genre is in its current state.. but alas. I love MMOs to much to stop playing them lol.

Ah yes, i remember what MMOs once were. Screaming for hours hoping someone would join that raid you were making and need just 31 more people to do. Wandering around that world of 4 repeating trees and rocks. Needing a small army to get any kind of reasonable experience. Losing experience on death, often costing 8 hours or more of grindtime. Finally defeating that uber raid boss that required half your server to kill, and getting a couple bits of silver. Yep, those were the days. Can't say i miss em.

How about, you know, making more content and faster like any other major mmo does "so that you don't complete the game in an hour..."

That logic doesn't make sense for an MMO, by that logic, every MMO should have lockouts for anything ( > . >
