Alchemist 1-30 (an ongoing compilation)

It may just be me, but i am having a TON of trouble making Lanolin, even with the correct book and all up to date gear. Especially so when i can make arrows 9 ranks below with guild synth help and the correct books, and weave cloth / thread 8 below with no problems. For the people that have already gone past that stage, did you have to use more magic craftsmanship or drinks?

and im Not quite at that level but how does switching out the disabling powder for linen dyes work? is it another nasty synth like lanolin? At 42 conj im CONSTANTLY over near Broken water doing leves with LS mates who give me all their moss, i have a rather large stockpile and was hoping to use it A) to synth up alchemy B) to help up weaver as well >.>; i have this horrible obsession with making at least 60 of each colour cloth for my own personal stash when ranking up.
