    The way the current classes and jobs have been set up doesn't give me a lot of hope for a cool implementation of future ones.

    As it stands now, a Blue mage would probably end up being a monk with tank stances and a lore-based description that has almost nothing to do with how they play.

    I'd like it if they could retcon some of the existing classes to such that each would match their lore better... And for them to make any new jobs completely diverge from existing ones.
    But I don't think that'll happen. :-(

    example

    Summoner , lolsmn

    my wife loved SCH in FFXI (she usually plays Whm / priests but in FFXI she didnt liked whm because lacked dmg, and loved rdm (<3 that hat) until she found that didnt have powerfull nukes nor powerfull heals , enfeebling magic II is nice but... ) i had lots of jobs but wanted to play melee/tank....

    ....no whm ,no rdm........SCH was the perfect option for her,to proc in abyss , want to heal? u can do that , want to deal dmg? u can do that, perpetuation + Haste :3 , plus sublimination was her own refresh :P ,regen V is a incredible HoT (using light arts of course) heals for a lot and last long time.

    SCH in FFXI is an amazing job

    I guess SE will add Thief , Ninja , Samuria , Red mage , they are waiting until population goes down, add some cool job and u will get lots of ppl back ....

    But seriously a mediator would be cool. Imagine taming enemies and mobs to do your bidding.

    I'd like to see ninja added with a diciple of magic base class, with a focus on dps/debuffing magic and self buff int based spells to make its weapons do spirit damage or something like that, so it could still melee despite being a DoM and being int based.

    I'd personally love to see Geomancer branch from Conjurer. With the original lore for CNJ it makes perfect sense to have them continue on with their nature studies and elemental magic. The whole White Magic deal was very forced in retcon... Hopefully a Geomancer that's more like Tactics' version and not the crappy version they just let into FFXI.

    Geomancer should be a buff/debuff/damage class (In relation to current ARR standards, something like Bard "support") with spells varying on their current environment. It would be a nice system to see, and not too hard to implement, just add type codes to maps that allow certain spells to be cast in that environment.

    EX: Hell Ivy - Usable on Grasslands, Forests, ect. Would be used in The Black Shroud and La Noscea Does damage and snares enemies.

    Of course Hell Ivy would be locked out in areas in Thanalan, but new ones unlock like Sand Storm - Usable on desert zones which does AoE damage and blinds all enemies.

    This would be nice.

    This. What I'd hope for though is a new class and its two respective jobs that could bring in fresh and more interesting mechanics to act as a gateway for the other classes/jobs to be improved upon at some future patch. I enjoy melee dps gameplay quite a bit, and the rest of the classes a fair to moderate amount as well (though BLM has dulled since the patch for me), but I can't help but feel that each of our playstyles should just be one of many options available to those jobs. The party also feels rarely entwined save for same-jobs setups (which are by default inferior due to Limit Build penalties), such as Dragon Kick/Storm's Eye upkeep and song exchanges. At very few points will a dps ever chose a certain move out of its fit to the party's battle situation. It's simply rotations, checks (this really needs to die in those 12 seconds), and windows (stun CDs and the free GCD per DoT rotation from that Skill Speed that you didn't even want).

    Personal largest wants: Ronin-->NIN/SAM. (Mostly because I feel that this could introduce entirely new mechanics and should fit a gameplay feel for mixed tanking/dps between that or Monk, Warrior, and Dragoon for Samurai and who knows what mixture if any for Ninja.)

    I still don't think a perfectly rigid system of classes to 2 jobs each benefits anyone though. Especially if the was some customization allowed in this game, it really ought to just be you, what you've learned and how you plan, following in the path and general skill sets of whatever job you're pursuing. Elemental monks, non-elemental monks, chakra monks, w/e.

    Another thing that kind of saddens me is that there was a sense of character even in being non-jobs before. Not much, but certainly a large potential. You got the sense that the Ishgardian cavalry probably had their own way of equipping their lancers, ability-wise, and the Wailers another. And that there was a definitely lore-centered mentality to those choices, and a different way of teamwork from it. That said, just add a small underlying system of punctures, breaks, draws, and knockbacks into the Tanaka system and you could have your Conjurer pulling a group of mobs into your Gladiator's Circle Slash and Howling Blade before a PGL Aura-pulses them out into an Archer's Arrow Helix; or have your Archer sight or distract openings that your Lancer punctures and your Pugilist finishes breaking through for armor bypass, etc. That said, that system had almost zero job-by-job uniqueness, but the customization of one's arsenal was fairly immense and could certainly have gone further if there had been mechanics to take advantage of it, especially as mentioned above and in AI diversification.

    I'm expecting each class to be able to fill two different rolls (like ACN gets to be a healer and DPS).

    MRD = Melee DPS (Berserker)
    GLA = Melee DPS (Dark Knight)
    LNC = Tank (Knight)
    PGL = Healer (Dancer)
    ARC = Melee DPS (Thief)
    THM = Tank (Red Mage tank...? )
    CJR = Ranged DPS (Geomancer)

    Something like that.

    What I would like to see:

    Gunblade job (branches from Gladiator and Musketeer) - adept at fighting in both melee and ranged, perhaps specializing in linear AoEs

    an "Eastern" class (katana/Great Katana) Effective as both tank and dps, branches into Samurai (more of a tank and holds hate through combos) and Ninja (more of a dps with dual wield trait, and able to use ninjutsu)
