This is what they should do, but I am assuming the reason they have not is due to cost. Direct download can be expensive. And SE are not the friendliest of people to allow other people to host them. (Zam tried but told to stop).I can't really comment on this being an issue as my patches always go rather quickly but considering the ammount of complainst the system receives they may want to go back to the old Direct download style patches at least until the game has enough users to support a torrent style patch, or they find a way to work around ports that people generally have blocked.
Well I can see why, tampering with the file would be extremly easy and make SE laible for a massive lawsuit.
