Also I knew what p2p ,eans with how they say if you turn off peer-to-peer downloading it help speeds yup the DL process. Like I said I waited and with my crap net got the patch Dl'ed and updated in 15 min faster then my mom cutting my hair which started at the same time.

Welcome to mmo this thing always happen on patch days. WoW had it FFXI had it. It happen FFXI had it the worst you would get an error and had to start over after the server congestion died down.

I've never ever had an issue with XI patches, and WoW idk never played but Aion was always instant, TERA's was crappy at first but now its insanely fast. (Even the entire 30gb game is downloadable from their site).

so are alot of games with alot more to it. you may not have add an issue but you can't say the same for everyone. Which is what I was trying to point out. Just because a handful of people are having issues. doesn't mean that patcher sucks or is bad. Nothing is perfect deal with it

But when its globally hated, doesnt work properly for majority of people and patches are designed with a massive flaw, then yes the patcher sucks. Even Aion, WoW, Tera any MMO all say the same thing "Congestion" its like saying "We'll look into it". Its just there to cover their ass XD

The fact that it uses a torrenting system and not direct download is enough to say it sucks

Where did they say the patcher may be slow due to congestion? Because it runs off torrent. Unless, I'm going to assume the initial file, and thats why we have these stupid upload/download ratios to release congestion? Seems odd to relate server congestion to an torrent...

Ah I see your post, it will be for the initial download which then we'll seed together. Things seem to pickup after the planned maint when people come back and begin downloading/uploading.

nice siggy btw ^^ learn to understand ADD. That and I'm hyped from bruins winning the Stanly cup so my bad on my crap typing.

Anyway... that is what I was saying and I didn't always had an issue with ffxi wow or Aion. ffxi was on ps3 and 360 Aion wow was on my non gaming pc. ffxiv is on my bros somewhat better laptop. pretty much this is how I was told it works

think of the pstch server as a popular irish pub, and EVERYONE from a stadium goes to this pub some people will get in fast some won't. It isn't that patcher or your pc. It is just the fact that too many people are trying to download the patch. with ffxi etc i never waited till i started to get the error.
Just because your unlucky don't mean it is that patcher fault.

I don't see what the fuss is about. I updated my Desktop PC and my significantly slower laptop without a problem.
