Almost no developer ninjas raw data into files to save download time. Almost all of them send a fresh copy of the entire thing over.

Took me 8 minutes to download this patch, and I did it right at 8 at prime time.

This is a masked rage at not being able to play NOW NOW NOW NOW. Chill the **** out and go sit on the porch or something for that 10 minutes. They have bigger things to worry about than the play time you lost while downloading 300 mb's.

    What is this, 1994?
First, my patcher has never worked properly since beta and updates can take anywhere from several minutes to several hours for no apparent reason zeroing out periodically for long spans of time. The smaller the file the better to minimize this annoyance if they aren't going to get the patcher to work properly on that front ever, which is apparent at this point.

Second, as Cutriss said, some countries have bandwidth usage caps and those people would prefer not to have their bandwidth wasted on a shit sandwich of an update.'

Third and lastly, this isn't a "stop whining because you're impatient" issue. The updater and the way the updates are pushed through are both a pile of garbage. People would be perfectly willing to wait for massive patch sizes if it merited the wait. This is just waiting for the sake of waiting.
