Drops should be better than token gear in every slot. They aren't. There should be 2nd tier, 1 materia slot, ilvl 80 crafted gear that has offset stats from myth. One has Determination? The other will have ACC. Something to get people out of the 2 piece body and leg sets without having to drop something back to 60. There isn't.

But back to the OP. In every MMO I've played, this is the hierarchy of player goodness-

1. Enough gear to be useful in the content. Much lower than community requirements, but the scale here slides up as those around you make mistakes.
2. PAY ATTENTION. WHY DON'T PEOPLE PAY ATTENTION???
3. Being able to do all the things at once. e.g. Keeping your rotation alive while doing the Titan dance. Not one then the other. Both together.
