    2.1 Lag

Ever since patch 2.1 I've been getting some pretty terrible lag.

Have a Verizon FiOS connection, 50/25. Ping is perfectly stable to just about anything else I try (ICMP to FFXIV's IP is unstable as well), speeds are right where you'd expect them to be.

What I'm seeing on my end is players running for 2-3 seconds, stopping, teleporting a short ways, running another 2-3 seconds, etc. Titans weights will hit me without my ever seeing them land. In the middle of a fight everything will just pause for 2-3 second and then resume. Frequent 90000 errors, which I hadn't experienced since beta...

I had the occasional lag spike, but nothing unexpected before 2.1 Ever since just about anything with an instant kill mechanic has become exceedingly difficult or impossible. Normally I'd blame the ISP for something like this, but there was no issue before 2.1 and I'm not having the problem with any other games/browsing/downloads.

Found another thread on the general forums of FiOS users claiming to have the same issue:

coincidence? I don't think SE hates FiOS customers.

Almost certainly not a coincidence, but also certainly not anything directed at FiOS. If I had to guess I'd say that whatever they did with the server grouping suddenly has a portion of the East Coast on a bad route.

I wasn't having a problem until the maintenance they did last night on the NA/EU data center.

    Cross posting from that thread.

People in there reported positive experiences with WTFast and after trying it out last night it seems to have cleared up my issues as well. You can use this program for a month for free with no sign up so it's worth a shot if you're having problems. Hopefully whatever we're all running into will be fixed in that time.
    Hope this helps everyone!

I've been having some lag problems on and off since either the 2.1 update or the hotfix patch, kinda hard to pinpoint which one since I didn't pay attention. I'm a PS3 player so I can't try and use any other tool to help fix the problem so this is really an issue at times. It should be noted that I do NOT play on wireless, nor is my computer using wireless for the ping test either.

I ran a ping test to the server I'm on using a program to see if anything noticeable happened.

Hop 11 had numerous lag spikes, while Hop 12 had the packet loss.

The sample was over 1000 in about 17 minutes, and there were numerous "100% packet loss" spikes like in the graph but I don't know what the cause of those were directly.

I didn't usually have this issue before, where now it seems like a very consistent problem that is occurring while I'm playing.

I'll do more later and keep posting my results in this post.

I feel you buddy. I'm also on ps3, with fios. Been lagging terribly. There's not much we can do in terms of programs to fix it. Unless we try a proxy server, in which case you need a computer, and I don't right now
I'll let you know if I find anything.
