    How to make gil for your FC House

    Step 1. Have a Level 50 Gathering class. You can get this in 30 hours by doing the following:

    1-5: Limsa lominsa. using the bait provided
    5-10: Middle la Noscea. Nym river switching up to Crayfish Balls
    10-20: Western la Noscea Brewers Beacon using goby balls until 15 where you switch to rat tails
    20-27: Upper la Noscea. Oakwood Lake on the western side of the map using Crow Flys and Brass spoon lures
    27-35: Western Thanalan. Moondrip using chocobo fly here gives you grip killifish which are the best exp by far until dune fishing
    35-40: Southern Thanalan. Sagoli Dunes using Sand leeches
    40-45: Eastern Thanalan. The Burning wall using Stem borers until 41 where i switched to Mithril spoon lure
    45-50: Either Cloud Fishing in Coerthas or Mor dhona North Silvertear for catching fish for the nearby leves (HQ fish turn ins are 90k a pop) Cloud fishing uses hover worms, Mor Dhona used Glow worms.
    Step 2. Gather a Peisteskin map each day
    Step 3. Group of 8 players, each with their own Peisteskin map. Do all 8 of them each day.

    Step 4. Deposit gained Gil from Treasures

    After a week, 8 players doing this will have gained at MINIMUM, 758,016Gil (1692 gil is the normal reward from peisteskin treasure chest, for each player, sometimes its just over 5k).

    Thats just for 8 players, over the course of a week.
    If you have 24 players, thats 2,274,048gil in a week.
    If you have 80 players, thats 7,580,160gil in a week.

    My FC been doing this since the patch hits. tho we dont have anywhere near 80 members we still make a ton of gil. Its very nice to see the millions in our bank.

    Those maps are being spammed so much on my server the drops are all but worthless.

    Honestly, it's not that hard to make money if you know what you're doing. I made 300k this week. The biggest issue I think is people are looking for a big payoff, the 1 million gil sell. Then they start to get discouraged when they can't find it. I sell a lot of small stuff for 1k to 5k, it's small but adds up fast.

    If you re-read the post, you'll see that the money being made is not from the drops but from the actual gil reward from the map. Money from selling the drops is a bonus on top of the amounts listed in the OP, which I will admit are a bit lacklustre in profit right now. I.e. each peisteskin map usually drops 1692 gil per person in the kill party. 8 maps x 8 players x 1,692 gil = minimum 108,288 gil per day from the gil rewards alone. Maps occasionaly drop ~5200 gil (I forget the exact number) per person, which adds an extra 28,000 gil per map that does this.

    My FC uses this method to earn money fairly quickly and has made about 2.5 million just from the gil drops since maps started being a thing. That said, getting at least 8 people who are willing to do this on a regular basis has its challenges. When we first started out it was fun to do, but it can become a bit of a chore so the interest has waned a bit. We don't do it every day, since there's other stuff to do, so we usually have about 16 maps each time we get around to doing a map run and that can be mentally exhausting to complete them all in one go.

    The good with your method is not that its great gil, but that it's NEW gil.

    Because you could probably sell the maps to other people for more than 1600x8, but not generate new guaranteed gil (plus myth, wee).

    I can see this being something to do every once in a while. But the overhead to get that many maps for the guild would be overbearing. And to get everyone in the guild to level a gathering class to get a map to just give all the profits to the bank also is not something that is very feasible. No other reason to level gathering... everything you get sells for 1-15gil more or less.

    I done the math as well and it would slowly get you gil. But the rate is just horrid. 7.5million with 80 people. Lets break out the math of exactly what that is.

    560 hours of work (1hr for all 8 per day x 10 partys x 7 days) + about 13 hours to farm all the maps as a collective (10mins x 80 people). So 573hrs per 7.5 million = 13,089 Per person per hour. That is just not an acceptable amount of gil... almost anything else you would do would be more then that. Running a dungeon with philo gets you like 10k in mob kills and a 7k philo item at the end of an hour.

    Now you get more then gil yes... but the markets are garbage on all servers so most mat drops are 1-100gil each even if hq. And even if you sell the shards and rare philo mat drops you will be pressed to break 17k/hr gil per person average.

    And the fun part getting people to give up "THEIR" gil to the bank at the end.

    To any guild that can pull it off for the long term my hats off to you. For me this only works on paper not in practice, the low rewards and way it is collected will not work over the longterm.
