You enjoyed the original Darklight grind? The endless CM speed runs were fun? Guess I'm getting old.

Yes, please complain more about a brand new game that is months and maybe years behind schedule because they had to entirely create a new game to redeem themselves. Please more complaining!![]()

They could do what they did with darklight during 1.0So take the lockouts off and see how fast you get bored with it then. Seriously, If you could run Coil 100 times a week, the 'loyal fans' you're talking about would do nothing by Coil till full i90, then complain that theres nothing to do. When new turns come out, spend a day getting them to farm status and by the second day they have everything for every job from Coil.
Nope. I will defend the presence of lockouts always. They serve as a reminder that theres more to do than the very latest high level raid.

Having the choice is better than being forced to do it their waySo take the lockouts off and see how fast you get bored with it then. Rift offers these things. Go check it out if that's what you care for. EQ next is boasting similar items as well. If Raiding isn't your thing and you care more about the RP - go there. Why do we even have to raid? Why is that the "be all end all" to a mmorpg? Why not instead have a real threat that binds players to work together... say some force attacking a city state... where you have to fight back the invaders or you lose that city?
I know all this is possible, mostly due to seeing similar in game stuff in some console games... I just for the life of me don't understand why its been all about the "gear grind" and the "spam this dungeon". I mean if you think about it.. this is a role playing game, some of the dungeons don't have a real reason to be in it story wise. You just go there for exp/gear.

Nah, I get it. It's fun to play it, and it's good to view all sides of an argument. However - regardless the actual %, the dropped gear 'should' be better than the currency gear. The only thing that 'may' make me change my mind about that statement is the rate of income compared to the currency requirement per item. Other currency based games require (example) 800 (let's call them trogdor's) for 1 item, but the income ratio is 5-10 trogdor's per dungeon reward. The weight of the work required to earn that piece is a lot heaver than what we're looking at now, which is essentially 5-12 runs of a select couple dungeons affords you any DL piece you could desire. The weekly caps set the maximum rate at which you can obtain the Myth gear, but there's no possibility, much less incentive, to push beyond that limit because your earning rate is reduced to 0 for X amount of days.
The current currency exchange rate for gear is unfair in terms of item strength vs. dungeon gear. SE reached hard to please more of the mid-core and casual players. Again, there's nothing inherently wrong with this.. ''however'' they're carrying this out and they are only offering 'their' way to get the gear. There's no options. If we had a balanced currency system 'and' a choice to grind for rarity I could care less if the potency of the currency item is even 90-95% of the rare drop's potential stats. The reward of the grind and the aforementioned 'e-peen' is a pretty awesome thing for those that desire it and are willing to work for it.

I share your pain OP. That's why I have not renewed my subscription after it has expired two days ago. People are right about this game being new so players should not expect a lot of contents yet. Patch 2.1 should have been available at release and patch 2.2 should have been available in December. Because new contents are now 3 month behind schedule, I believe that people who have been playing since beginning should take a hiatus and give some time for new contents to catch up.

An addition, Jubez187:
If SE is already set on a path of giving players a boost after X amount of time has passed, whether it be every other patch they boost content from 2 updates ago, etc etc.. I don't know or care. However, the same theory could still be applied. Release the dungeon / raid / w.e, have it be tough, have the drop rate on the floor, and then gradually raise the % every few months. Eventually it would serve all players as they're already confirming the buffs to accomplish past content.
It can be done in a way to serve multiple types of players. But not offering options gives a very 'Linear' path to what is supposed to be an MMO, which inherently should be doing everything in it's power to break from those chains.
Already tried rift.. thats not what im talking about. thats just random scripted little fights... lol..
No, for now i think I'm actually quite happy in here discussing the future of ff. But thank you so much for the offer. Personally, i'd like to see them get away from raids and into something with more substance.

You do realize the people that are in endgame and that have actively killed Twintania are in the less than 1% right? The rest of the people that aren't are still leveling, crafting, raiding and playing. Just because you and me and others have killed Twintania and are waiting on Turns down the road doesn't equal that we should get more content faster. We wanted to kill her and be on the train of completion but there's a down side to that line of logic. You now have to wait and do the same thing again when new content comes out. Welcome to the cutting edge of raiding.
Look at it this way, learn another class, play that class through Coil and beat her again in a different role. That's content revival challenges to yourself. You need something to do so do something to rechallenge yourself.
