Vote Kick issue

In a CT run we had a Marauder queue up in all pvp gear telling our other tank to solo tank and he'll dps.

We ended up vote kicking him since he was being an all-round jerk. However, when you vote kick someone, it doesn't incur any duty penalty, so he was free to re-queue in progress back into our run.

What's the point of vote-kick, a feature to punish people who act negatively in groups, when it doesn't provide any real consequences?

Then make kicking for invalid reason punished with a WHOLE MONTH ban for initiator, and TWO WEEKS for everyone that accepted. Add special tab in contact support, "report invalid vote kick", and make handling it absolute priority.

Well, if you put too much of a punishment on the one who's kicked, how are you going to distinguish legit, warranted kickings from malicious griefing? Something small would be okay, a 5-10 minute inability to queue perhaps.

For any real punishment, SE would have to track people who get kicked regularly, not punish anyone who's kicked even once.

I wish they'd also look at people who tend to start kick votes, because there seem to be some people all too ready to kick someone over ridiculous things. I saw someone suggesting that a newbie in a dungeon who doesn't watch a video about the dungeon before using the duty finder should be kicked (and banned).

I think getting locked out from re-queuing for 5-10 minutes after a kick is perfectly fine. I would venture a guess that most of the time you are kicked for good reason. And if not? You'd probably rather not end up back with the same group any way. And the small delay means that if the group did kick you are valid reasons (as with the OP), they wouldn't have to worry as much about that person some instantly getting back into the group.

I'm seeing too much kicking for being "unskilled." This isn't an acceptable reason for vote kick, unless they're playing badly on purpose, then it would be harassment. There is no option in the vote kick menu for unskilled players, and it's that way for a reason.

I love that idea, but instead of instantly getting locked out, what if it builds? The first time you're kicked (in case the party is wrongfully kicking you), nothing happens. The next time you're kicked within a period of time (like 120 minutes), you're locked out for 15 minutes, the next time, 30 minutes and so on. I feel like that would discourage all the random duty roulette trolling that has been going on lately.

It seems wrong that you can end up in the same party. I would understand if he ends up in the same instance, different party, but letting them rejoin the exact same party makes no sense whatsoever.

This happened in a group I was in the other day. One of the players wasn't particularly good and someone initiated a vote to kick them due to 'harassment'. I declined the to vote-kick the person and we won the fight with the next attempt. In the future, I'm thinking we should report the people who start those for harassment

To the issue OP had, CT doesn't really need 6 tanks. One guy showing up as MRD dps build is not going to wreck your run, probably be better than if he'd gone WAR. I've been considering going as this myself. OP sounds kinda butthurt.
