So while you feel the 'full effect of the battle' you cause your party to wipe 20 times and waste everybody's time (well, even more than playing a game). GG
But you're not by your "damn self". You're usually with a group of strangers. Some of which usually have knowledge to beat it. The same knowledge you can learn by looking up your fight before hand instead of having it hastily written to you by someone itching to beat it.
I love discovery and figuring things out for myself. I really really do.
But when you're doing a group project, I feel like you should be doing your best to help the group succeed.
Everyone is in the same boat when content is released, there isn't really any prep work anyone can do. That's a very different situation from someone being selfish and refusing to use guides/tutorials when they are available.
So yeah, looks like you fully read and understood the thread, well done....
bro, when they pay my sub I will do whatever they ask, until then I choose to be a useless lump and you can't stop me!But you're not by your "damn self". You're usually with a group of strangers. Thank goodness for the kick option "play how you want to play" at your own risk in a party. Reminds me of whm/wars in FFXI "I'll play how I want to play!" Goodbye ./kick Play how you want to in play solo content for sure though.
If you want to "experience a fight first hand", for the love of god, do it with a party of like-minded people.
Don't EVER queue DF solo or even join PFs that aren't looking for first timers to learn stuff together.
People are pissed with those who want to "experience a fight first hand" but join experienced and competent parties in hopes of getting carried through.
I fail to see how if you want to "experience a fight first hand", but refuse to create a party of like minded people.
Personally I think the way the game was before the kick option was introduced has bred this attitude that you can turn up unprepared and fail and it's all ok, in fact if the other 7 people don't like it they're just elitists discriminating against new players. By it's very nature there is no accountability in the Duty Finder so people could completely ignore the needs of their party members and have this selfish attitude.
It doesn't work that way with no Duty Finder because people will simply exclude you from the group and eventually you'll get a bad rep and people won't want to play with you. You can only burn so many bridges before it bites you in the ass.
I'm hopeful with the introduction of the kick option the less empathetic members of our community will realise that to play with other people you have to accept you have certain social responsibilities. I wonder if some of the people in this thread have ever played a team game in real life, tried the precious snowflake approach and seen how far it got them. I'm guessing it wasn't very far.

Makes just as much sense. Or as little.
For some people, fighting a boss in a game can be compared to reading a chapter in a book. They don't want to look up a summary of said chapter before reading it, just so they can talk about the book's content with people who've already finished it.
And some people simply don't like playing "monkey see, monkey do" instead of just jumping into the action and seeing what it's all about.
If you can't, or don't want to, deal with the masses of players who'd rather experience content for themselves than having it "spoiled" by a video, just follow your own advice and make a group of people who share your point of view, then you can avoid the Duty/Party finder altogether and won't ever be in danger of having to play with someone who has less experience than you.
