On the other hand, things like The various Bomb Formations and the way to coutner them will be less evident without several trial runs than say, something as obvious as Giant zones of death. My issue with this whole "watch a video before you get into a hard fight" mentality is that it does nothing to fix the issue that's at the core of this: people don't pay enough attention in a fight.
If you're paying attention to what is going on, it should only take one or two deaths to figure out what you should be doing to prevent the death (obviously some fights are more mechanics prone and you'll die to the next one and so on but still). If people are actively paying attention to what's going on they'll notice the queues, notice what more experienced people are doing (in the case of getting the instruction of "nails ASAP" and not knowing which nail to go for).
Mechanics based fights are entirely dependent on situational awareness, which a lot of people seem to lack.
Please note; my opinions are of course limited to the content in this game I have completed up to and the content in other games I have participated in.
First. Ellipses are not meant to be used like that, stop butchering the written language.People can you please at least watch a video on the Primals before joining a party . If there is no PF group and even then sometimes people will join and you are DPS in a DF and you have been in a Que for 45 mins and you finally get Ultima HM to pop do us a favor and watch the video on the fight before you join. So often even in PF , people join the fight is up were in and someone is like 1st time here . ok...... Did you watch the video or read about the fight ? ............ no is it hard ?............your a tank and you have not watched the video ......? .........Nope......Wow.......were dead ....... then the healer leaves before we even start .....thanks for wasting mine and everyone else time .
So please take 5 mins out of your day watch a video here ill show you how to do it
Second, you blame the tank that is new instead of the healer that leaves after not one-shotting it? Nice logic there.
If you're in a static group that is in it for progression, watch the videos and learn everything you can. If you're just playing the game for fun (As most of us do), then you can learn as you go; And if people have a problem with that in a PuG, maybe they should relax a little or find themselves a static.
The main issue is the content. It forces you to know rotations in order to proceed further. DF timer is an hour and players lose patience when the attempt never gets out of the early phases because someone is winging it. You don't have this issue as much in FFXI because the battles didn't rely on rotations and phases like FFXIV does.
There is only 1 thing you really need to know when tanking ultima , and that is to take agro from MT when he gets 3 stacks , I haven't watched a video and I found that out after about 1 wipe .
Watching a video of how to do a fight really ruins the experience . I did those HM dungeons before watching video and found it extremely enjoyable working out how to beat them .
