People keep blaming the PS3 for limitations to the size of zones (well actually, they blame the PS3 for pretty much all limitations) but keep ignoring that they also wanted the game to run on low-end PCs too.

no the trouble is directly link to the memory of the ps3 (256mb) go find a low-end pc with this much... i wait ^^ you will find at worst 2-4go...
the loading was put because of this. why the zone are this small? for give them true identity with less repetition of the zone like we had in the v1.
having huge empty area is not that good...seriously.
1.0 Players: "This sandwich that is three arms long and is made of shite tastes bad. You should change the shite."
Squee: "Okay! Here, have this one which has no shite on it but is also the size of a thumb."
ARR Players: "That was delicious! But very, very short."
White Knights: "Oh, but you ASKED for this! Do you want the shite again?!"
False dichotomy is false.
It's not a battle between "huge repetitive zones" and "small unique zones". It's a battle between squee not wanting or being unable to put "huge" and "unique" together in the same sentence.
I love this! I mean, I hate the problem. But this post! Yes.1.0 Players: "This sandwich that is three arms long and is made of shite tastes bad. You should change the shite."

Theres either lack of open world areas or just making zones bigger. This can be fixed.
1 Main issue is the game loads all of the zone. Can see this when you fall through the ground. Things can be cut down to save on PC/PS3 preformance.
1.0 had same issue were we would load ocean water under the hole zone.

Because a common criticism of 1.0 was that much of the "Open world" was copy pasted. Which was true. So zones were made smaller so SE could focus on making them unique and well made rather then using the same 5 areas over and over again. It has nothing to do with the PS3.
didn't read all 14 pages, but it was stated before Beta that they made more zones/instances and loading screens to accommodate more players who cannot afford High End PCs. To play 1.0 effectively you would have to spend near a G on a nice PC.
