silhouette icon on lodestone?

I just saw on lode stone someones character shows a icon of a silhouette face and clicking on their name shows their character as normal. whats up with that?

I saw someone's icon that was like that last night, and their entire character was even a silhouette when you clicked on it.

Lodestone and the forums don't update character images in real time. No idea what kind of schedule or delay they're on, but they can take hours to update sometimes. My guess would be silhouettes happen when the site tries to update the images when character data isn't available (character too new, maintenance, database timeout, etc.), and the avatars and full character images are probably on different schedules/delays.

Yeah, I've noticed the forums also are particularly slow when it comes to updating my character's avatar and info to reflect her current class/Job and appearance in game (for instance, my character is now wearing SMN AF and not that silly pirate hat the avatar is currently showing!). Sometimes it seems to update every 12 hours or so, other times days can pass before my character info refreshed. All you can do is be patient sadly.

The data feed from the game servers to the Lodestone/forum accounts for some such issues, but what appears to be slow updating on images like avatars or sigs can also sometimes be due to your browser caching images. I used to think my sig wasn't updating as I gained levels until I realized it would update if I clear my browser cache.
