    Neither are worth it. You can get Allagan shield off T1 which is a joke as difficulty goes. Upgrading the sword will make an extremely small increase in agro capability at the cost of 600 myths, so not worth it until you are fully decked out.

    I am an ilvl 80 PLD and I still have the original Curtana relic. You will hate yourself for doing this, believe me. Upgrade from the ilvl 70 pieces, chest 1st, head 2nd, legs feet, and then the ring that is not darklight.

    The reason for doing chest 1st, is because the head drops off T5, so you probably won't be getting it anytime soon, and you can wear either the i55 helm or a crafted i70 helm until you get the AF2 head.
