    What the game's been missing?

SE has done a decent job of providing content but why is most of it Instanced? Where is the World Content?

At level 50 aside from Gathering & Dailies, I see no incentive to play the game beyond finding a group and doing the menial tasks that have been set. I don't feel the conflicts of Eorzea or a dire need to save it. A World without conflict reduces the towns to nothing more than HUBs while I wait to do instanced stuff.

I personally feel that Full PvE MMO's aren't as engaging without a great story to pull you in or a sense of danger as you explore. Though FFXI lacked Open World PvP, it was fun to explore, you felt the conflict across every zone. There was a sense of excitement travelling at any level because of the threats the world provided. Here at level 50 there's pretty much nothing to fear.

    Some Solutions
1.Could we at least get some non fated NPC assaults (Not Opo-opos) on the towns & areas to give the world sense of conflict that the story tries heavily to push?

2.Give us FC alliance challenges for world bosses to get loot and rank. Create Bounty Monsters that give parties loot & a reason to explore the world.

3.As far as instances, Why not make some instanced dungeons that don't require a tank and healer to complete? Allow us to Duty Finder instances as hybrid parties. It will actually give the hundreds of Damage Dealers that que something to do.

I feel like Fates are forced more than a natural occurrence mostly because they are optional. Treasure hunting is the best thing that's happened. As a person who likes exploring I feel like the world is too small and uninvolved because the majority of the game play is instanced.

If you are following the main story, than understand conflict technically has been avoided and we are in sort of a lull. We know there is danger, and what is awaiting around the corner, it just hasn't presented itself to the general population yet. I'm out and about in the world quite a bit, while leveling a gathering quest or picking a quite place to work on a craft.

In short, give it time for the game is in it's infancy still and has a long way to go towards its development.

It shouldn't be a lull because Dragon's are supposed to be ravaging coerthas central highlands. The Beastmen are supposed to be rallying behind their Primal Gods but in reality all they do is sit at their camps and attempt summons. Also the Garlean Empire has set up Castrums and just seem to sit there as well. There should be slightly more tension gameplay wise. I do hope they give the World more life as it grows as that is a staple of the Final Fantasy universe.
Yes, but again it's in its infancy, and you can't really expect it to be all balls with everything all at once. At least I don't. And they appear to be releasing story line content with patches and that can allow for periods of "downtime". We just beat off the Garleans and their Ultima weapon. I think they are allowed to have a moment to breath. ^^

What we suffer is "the curse of knowledge". For new people, most of the dungeons after level 24 is considered "intense". For us, we just don't understand why newbies do not "get the mechanic" when everything is spelled out for you right in front of your screen... For them Brayflox is HARD ("you want me to Esuna all of you? move out of the way? and cure three people???), Sunken Temple is "ZOMG WTF was that", Cutter's Cry was "intense" and Titan "baby trial" was "fck this, I swear I ran and out of the train track from hell".

The dragons have been ravaging Coerthas even in 1.0 - Ishgard is stated as being in an eternal war against them. That doesn't mean that the entire zone has to be a battlefield all the time. And if you've completed the main storyline, you'll know that
following Operation Archon the Empire's advance into Eorzea has been effectively halted, if not eliminated completely - Gaius's death basically took the wind out of the XIVth Legion's sails - they were stated early on as being alone in Eorzea without any chance of support from Garlemald itself due to the infighting in the Imperial Court, so with Gaius gone, their march of conquest has essentially ended, at least for the foreseeable future. Sure, there's still Imperial troops around, but they're nothing more than remnant forces who are just an inconvenience instead of being a legitimate threat.

It sounds to me you just want something like Campaign or Assault from FFXI in XIV - the irony is Campaign is essentially the prototype for the FATE system anyway. It could stand to use some tweaks though I admit, but really, FATEs are already open world large scale conflicts anyway - putting a new Campaign style system into the game would just be superfluous.

I would love more open world content But that said, you act as if Square Enix hasn't already provided us with quite a bit. The last patch gave us Dailies and Treasure Hunting in addition to what we already had and I don't think they're small additions. I've spent hours each day doing both those activities.

Also maybe you can explain your suggestions to me a bit more. Option three doesn't even address the proposed issue you've brought up and how is option one any different than the FATEs we have now except that the zone would get no warning they're happening?

As for option two, I'm all for more open world bosses! Though I'd prefer they stay as they are (Like Odin and Behemoth) because there is no fighting for claim...which to me is terribly frustrating. And bounty monsters are already a part of the game in the levequest and treasure hunting systems

No one said ANYTHING about entire zones being besieged. The point is there are no natural predators or reasons to traverse the world after level cap in this MMORPG which is odd for any game of the genre. All that lore wise stuff is just an excuse. There is very little to no interaction in the world at this point and that is based on the development team's idea to instance most of the content in a non instanced world. Again no one said anything about campaigns but the world could stand a bit more challenge.

Fates and Leves are "Optional" & level synced, My ideas suggests coaxed or unavoidable interactions. I gave them props for the Treasure hunts. Option 3 is regarding the instancing. IF they plan to rely on it heavily why not make it more flexible? Also Odin & Behemoth are fights for the top DPS Parties to get placement which is no different than competing for mobs tagging. If your party is the weaker of many you get bronze vs stronger teams, so world bosses are slightly competitive.

I imagine many of the beastmen tribe will have thier own dalies.

It will also be nice if gc gives us more quests to complete and a reason to go to many of these small towns again

I can see where you're coming from. I enjoyed the occasionally sense of danger that games like FFXI had.

The problems I see with this though is that if they weren't level synced then one of two things would happen: Only level 50s could participate because these encounters would all be at the level cap or level 50 characters would participate in low level events and destroy the feeling of danger you're going for.

Also if they are unavoidable I predict these events being more frustration then excitement. Imagine if every FATE you run by forced you to stop and participate. I don't think I would go minutes without being frustrated and annoyed at the system.
