Gridania Vs. Ishagard. Who won?

coerthas and ishgard are to the West of Gridania. Further West is what -seems- to be the land of the dragons (dravania) as well as what i'm assuming is either a city or a ruined city (shariavan).

I believe that is actually Sharlayan, the city that Thancred, Y'shtola & the other two are from (names eluding me), who are present in the Rank 1/8/15/46 quests (the last of which I'm itching to play) and seem very curious about the goings-on in the rest of Eorzea. This could in turn add yet another dimension to plot and events.

Your right, it should be sharLavan not shariavan but theres a v not a y on the map at least.

No, it's actually a y in there, you can see when you look at Vylbrand on the map. The v in eorzean is a perfectly straight line on the first stroke, where as the Y is a slightly curved line on the first stroke.

Also, that's not an I, that's an L. It's Sharlayan, not Sharlavan nor Shariavan.

People there actually read the dialogue and think about the implications.
I've seen you there before (and I haven't checked it in days) so maybe you posted this there already.

I am not trolling or anything of the sort.... but...

Ishgard is a good guy... it will be... most likely... XIV's version of Jueno.... They did not attack Gridania.... the ones that attacked gridania and everyone else is as it has been said sporatically in this topic... these armored people you talk about belong to Garland Empire... where everyone on here is getting these 2 places confused is beyond me but... the conflict is always coming from the East, and Ishgard is from the west...

True, but we have had it iterated to us that the Empire is not the real threat, which we are being distracted from.

I expect this to be complicated.

The way I understood it was all the city states used to fight amongst themselves for money, power, etc. but that all changed when Ala Mhigo was crushed by the the Garleans. Back then Ala Mhigo was supposed to be the strongest of the city states. Now eveyones like well dang guess we better beef up and quite fighting each other so we can work to together when the full invasion happens.

So ya they are all good guys now, but in the past they have had thier differences.

I thought we were still talking about battle of Dragonfall which I assumed was just an old conflict between Ishgard and Gridania before the Garlean thing started up. Man why can't they give us dates in the dialogue lol.
