Main quest and party finder frustrations!

I have currently been waiting in the party finder for a main quest groups for 306 minutes; yesterday I waited in the party finder for over 500 minutes. Balancing grouping around 50% dps, 25% healers, and 25% tanks creates a bottle neck. I personally would have liked to see 70-80% dps and 15-10% healer/tank split. A party system than requires 1 tank, 1 healer, and 4-5 dps would make finding groups bearable.

The main quest in FFXIV requires approximately 181 quests be completed. This is not optional to do engage in many activities at level 50 a player is required to complete this quest series. Until level 20 the quest chain was fun and interesting; at this point I skip cut scenes and chat-boxes as fast as possible. The main quest chain in FFXIV is the most miserable gaming experience in my RPG history.

Overall I enjoy FFXIV for the love of god developers do something to help new players such as myself. I feel sorry for anyone trying to do these quests 1 year from now.

Did you try to make a party by yourself on your server? Or at least a few people to que together with? It may help get in duty finder with more than 1 queing at a time.

Are you using "Party Finder" or "Duty Finder"? If Party Finder, it's going to take longer, as for some reason, it's not pointed out it's there to people. You kind of have to know about it to use it. In it though, you can make pretty much any party if i remember right, not limited to set roles. I could be wrong though.

Duty finder is more what i feel you should be using for leveling, as i've never had to wait more than half an hour for story quests in dungeons, and non dungeon quests can be easily soloed.
