Do i want determination or crit? if i can only pick one of them

I personally go for crit but you can build either way, depending on your preferences. As you get towards Coil, accuracy becomes just as important, too.

Between those two specifically, the difference is negligible. ACN does have that trait where if your pet crits you have a chance to get a spell speed bonus, so that might push a bit in favor of crit, but I certainly don't prioritize it any higher.

What is Coil?

Coil is the currently hardest endgame dungeon. It's where you can get level 90 gear. Also, as far as those stats go, your bigger priority is "which gives me more intelligence and/or weapon damage?" which will likely be the item at a higher item level. You don't really need to nitpick about the lower priority stats until you hit endgame where you may have 2 or 3 options for a given slot at the same item level.
