    Monk Mantra

What is the range on this ability... I just finished leveling monk to 50 and I've been doing some ifrit HM runs... after the nails I try to hit my group with this (yes I know it isn't needed) but it barely hits anyone

I feel like I have to be touching them almost, seems kind of weird for a utility buff

Also I find the monk trait to be odd. By itself it is only a 5% increase which is ~something~ but it really isn't that much. It basically makes the ability only worthwhile only if you have the trait unlocked.

idk but I kind of wished it gave a 15/20% bonus to healing as a base and the trait add an AoE heal... basically like Sabin in FFVI

    just my thoughts

I agree with the wish to have a Sabin feel to the ability. I'd actually love if the ability was something like Sacrifice 75% of your current HP to AOE Heal with 250 Potency (Medica I) and add 5% +healing recieved buff for 15 sec.
    Trait - Sacrifice 50% instead of 75%.

You have to remember that Mantra is a cross class ability and it's balanced as such.
Everyone has access to the 5% version, Mnks bring the 20%.

Also, I don't really agree about Mantra being very small in range. It's fairly big compared to, say Cure III's aoe heal (where you really do need to be almost touching).
In most situations where Mantra is good, you are stacking for AoE Damage anyway (Titan's Geocrush or Stomps, Garuda's AoE, Turn 4's burn phase, Turn 5's conflags etc.).
In other cases, you may use it as a Tank CD which isn't that hard since you're melee anyway.

Ifrit has a pretty big arena so it's not the best judge. If people stacked after the nails for a SCH's Sacred Soil, then they would likewise get hit by Mantra. I would say it's the same range, and that's a decent size.

Unfortunately it's not a skilled that people rely on. I try to call it out before using it, especially to the tanks, that way they can save at least one defense CD for later. I do wish people would value the skill more, 20% extra healing is alot, isn't?

My main being a healer, I can happily say that yes, mantra is helpful. I love when a monk uses it on T4, it helps keep the tank up without using as much mana. So a word to all monks. Don't discredit mantra. It's very helpful.

The range is currently 6 yalms radius, that is about the distance from the center of ifrit/Titan to the tanking position. It is also about the size of a ifrit plume if you need another reference.

Mantra is great when you remember to use it. Thats my main issue.. i had Mantra as a cross class ability for my conjurer. Made a content difference in my heals with jsut the 5%. As a monk, youll probably be relatively close to the Tank so it always helps to give tank additional healing. Ive been a bad monk and havent used it much as of late, until I ran into Siren in Pharos Sirius..
