    First person camera

    Anyone have experience with this?

    I've tried it but:
    1. My mount is invisible when I'm mounted, which feels very weird considering the chocobo's head at least reach my neck neight.
    2. My weapons are not visible during combat, nor does the camera move, make it feel like I'm just a ghost floating right in front of the combat particle effects.
    3. No camera shake that would happen while we're moving or doing combat in real life. Again I feel like just a ghost floating there.
    4. Cut-scenes are still in 3rd person perspective.

The first person camera is just a camera that is fixed to a certain height, that makes our character invisible. It's implemented very superficially and feels very bad.

What do you all think about this? Anyone actually using this in dungeons?

As I have repeatedly made threads about.

And more on the testing forums.

It drives me absolutely nuts x.x Seriously why the complete disinterest from the rep's on the issue?

Honestly the 1st person camera seems like such a cop-out in general. I understand the cut-scenes being in 3rd person only - to fix that they'd have to make some really big, sweeping changes. .. similar for a lot of Zfz' complaints. This is hardly Skyrim after all, and to make cater to people with a strong preference for The Elder Scrolls' format would cost a lot of money to cater to a crowd who, to be frank, do not make up an enormous portion of the userbase.

Still, it would be wonderful to see them bother to fix the things that can be fixed without too much trouble. Render the chocobo under us when we're riding, maybe add some view bobbing if it's not too much trouble.. and fix the bloody Lalafell first person camera height.

It's something to do with culling. I first got annoyed with it when I realised in first person, my character is not drawn, and thus produces no shadow. (I was hoping for a cool screenshot / gif ....)

I hope they make it work like how it should soon :<

I also created a thread on this matter, It seems like it shouldn't be that hard to impliment and it would make a lot of people happy.

    AOE's not visible

The main problem I have with the First Person camera is that AOE markers aren't visible. It would be nice if they gave some indication similar to shooters pointing you in the direction your being shot at - it could point you toward safety with a red arrow or something - just a thought.

As it is FP mode is useless in combat.
