In other games if there is a programming fluke, they fix it. They don't say "hey guys, don't do this until next patch or whenever we decide to get around to it." I mean they could just disable jumping until it's resolved. Don't act like it's all the players fault pressing spacebar turns the pvp world upside down. To say this wasn't well tested would be an understatement.
I dunno if it's a new trend or something, but today alone we've come across at least 3 teleport hackers. One paladin kept vanishing every time he wasn't using an active skill, and we had a bard on our team who vanished into the sky then came back down and landed in front of me when he was low health. There was a scholar who was bouncing all over the place in one game, too. I believe people can lag sometimes, but these seemed really really deliberate.
Actually, in other games they ban you for exploiting things for gain against other players before they can patch it: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2009/1...t-none-banned/In other games if there is a programming fluke, they fix it. needs more attention. I see at least one of these teleporting hacks a day.I dunno if it's a new trend or something, but today alone we've come across at least 3 teleport hackers. Do you think if the exploit in that situation was simply pressing one button on the controller, with no other preparation for the exploit, that they would still ban people in that situation? They would probably have hundreds of thousands of people banned if not more if that was the case.Actually, in other games they ban you for exploiting things for gain against other players before they can patch it: http://arstechnica.com/gaming/2009/1...t-none-banned/
People probably won't get banned.
But it makes you an ultra scumlord for doing it.
Though I guess those people probably don't care. :3
I come across 2 PLDs in action doing this (both from same server funny enough, Moogle) yesterday as we didn't have a tank like we usually do, the start of the match a whm couldnt cast protect on one of them, neither could i heal one, saying i wasn't near the person or w/e, and that was BEFORE the gates had opened...I dunno if it's a new trend or something, but today alone we've come across at least 3 teleport hackers. I have video proof of both of these tanks in action and it is blatantly obvious, I can provide them as proof if needed.

Interesting how one of the botters in the above video was mentioned by name in this thread a couple days ago on page one. I reported him several days ago and asked others to as well after watching him bot for more than a week. Others have claimed to have reported him and his name is infamous for botting and yet- he is still in game botting daily and acquiring pvp rewards. This is just ONE that I see on a regular basis so I think I can say with some validity that ES is extremely slow on doing anything with blatant cheating even when reported by multiple players. There are people that claim to have been reporting this specific player for weeks.
Well I'm not surprised SE/the GM squad isn't taking this seriously yet, they wait until the majority of their fanbase complains before taking action usually. Remember when RMT spammers weren't being banned for months despite hundreds-thousands reports against accounts?dwdrama posted this link in another thread: http://www.twitch.tv/phazedmd/b/492871510

It isn't about people who just jump once or twice, it's about intentionally and repeatedly pushing that button to basically make you immune to attack, which is not the intended function of that button. It's cheating in it's simplest and purest form, and was explicitly mentioned as being something the game designer does not want people to do by the game designer himself. If by having to resort to cheating in such a way to not die, then you didn't deserve to stay alive in the match; this is a simple fact. If you want to compare it to anything it would be like people using a simple exploit like crouch jumping to get out of the typical bounds of a map in an FPS and killing players from a zone that no one targets because it should be empty. Taking advantage of a bug the testing team missed to gain an unfair advantage against other players because your skills in the actual bounds of the game are lacking is just pitiful and sad as well, and anyone cheating like this should be ashamed to call themselves PvPers, or gamers at all. In actuality it would just make you a sore loser who has to cheat to prevail over superior players.Do you think if the exploit in that situation was simply pressing one button on the controller, with no other preparation for the exploit, that they would still ban people in that situation?
